Dammit I have to drive to PA to get it as no one around here sells that. Good thing I work just 6 miles from the border. Hopefully this week I can make a run down there. Looks and sounds delicious. Settled for this tonight

We heard it closed. Haven't had any break ins in a few years. Send some of those deer over our way then, HAHA. I looked up Shea Rd and it isn't too far. Funny that I saw Abe Lord creek rd on there I never noticed. Abe Lord creek runs the entire length of our property right into the Delaware. Also the land we lease was originally owned by the Lord family. We found that out from old man Marino from Marinos in Hancock. He grew up down there.

Hunted the 100acre wood with my buddy and his Dad this morning. We were trying to get his Dad a deer as he has only seen 1 doe all season and missed a shot at her. It was the noisy walk ever so I just went for it to get to my lookout spot as quickly as possible. Was there just before first light and the snow was falling. Had high hopes. Lots of vehicles driving into the hunting camp that borders the opposite side of the property I was sitting on. Around 8 or so I heard a muzzleloader go off at the camp land. Then 3 shots from a shotgun. Then 2 shots from a pistol. Then several more shotgun blasts for about half an hour. They have a range over there and I was like WTF are they sighting in before doing drives? No idea what they were doing but no deer ran onto the property we were watching. Sat until 1145 and then headed to the car. Had errands and took my son to a birthday party at the skating rink. Going to hit the same spot in the morning. Can't be any worse than today was says my buddy via text earlier, lol. Can only hunt til about 1030, then soccer.

Congrats on a fine doe.

If you walk to the back of our property and then keep going through the woods, you will end up in French Woods. I've never been over there as we always turn at Lordville Rd. But I've seen it on the map. Over the years we've had our cabin broken into. We were told it was escapees from the boys home over there. I'm thinking more local kids. Were only an hour and 15 minutes from the property to the northwest but life gets in the way and it seems like it is 8hours away trying to get down there. Let me know if you hear anything. That would be great. We may go down Saturday for muzzleloader but not sure yet. Good luck.

Not sure. One of our members is from Orange County and he knew some of them as he has a summer house and met them. Said there were like 30 guys in their cabin. They own a lot of land. Used to hear them setting up their drives. Four wheelers and a deuce and a half used to drive their roads and drop guys off. Havent heard them or seen them near our property line in 3 or 4 years. Funny thing is, all the deer we shoot have stomachs full of corn and there aren't any farms nearby and again most of the traffic comes off that land. Not sure what is going on up there but hunting has changed down there for sure. Sorry to derail your thread.

I can't work a blade on a stone to save my life and I even have the cheater plastic wedge to help hold the blade at the correct angle. My FIL got one of these as a gift and it is awesome. It's usually on sale for around $75 so keep an eye out. Works incredible. http://m.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Work-Sharp-WSKTS-Original-Knife-Tool-Sharpener&i=852098

Mixing it up huh? But I see Mrs. Feathers is having her usual Moscow Mule. Nice Stopped at the store tonight and saw this but was too chicken to buy a sixer of it, however they have a Holiday 12 pack that has it in there. Anyone tried it?

Ok just checking. Their land borders ours down in Lordville. We haven't heard or seen those guys hunting in the past few years. The deer run off our property and onto theirs and no one pushes them around anymore.

Lordville. You wouldn't happen to belong to Tomar Mtn gun club?

Quiet out here. Been out since before light on the ground trying to get it done. -
Good shooting. Where is your camp in Hancock? Just curious as we have a camp down there as well that I belong to.

Well I am not a collector or aficionado of any sort but I have a bunch of knives and all have been used to dress and butcher deer except one. From left to right Charles Daly Buck clone. This is my go to hunting knife and has been for 10+ years now. I bought it at a fishing auction that had some personal hunting items from an estate mixed in. IIRC, I paid $11.00 and it has paid for itself and then some. 2. Appalachian Trail made in USA folding knife. Paid $4 and holds and incredible edge. 3. Dad's Boy Scouts of America fixed blade. Late 50`s early 60's 4. Dad's Case XX Made in USA 5. Dad's Antler handled Soligen fixed blade from Germany 1960s 6. Pakistan made fixed blade I bought at another sale. Not a real good knife at all. No edge 7.Casselman pocket knife I received as a gift. Just decided tonight to use this for everyday carry. 8. This is a special one that has not seen the woods(little too large for me) Dads from Germany custom made from aircraft parts in 1943. Engraved on blade- F M Welsh 8-19-43 Cool thread idea TF. Thanks for sharing everyone.

IMO it is cute and it is legal in other states. And yes children are impressionable but I would think that the teacher or mentor for these children should be the guiding force and teach them right from wrong as they would for everyday life situations or in other activities they are involved in. A kids imagination is endless and I love the droppings, especially on peanut butter blossom cookies!!!

It's called a ball starter and yes very handy

Those are not the same deer. Novaks is an 8pt and Bingas is a 9pt. Look at the left main beams. Bingas has a small kicker to make it a 9. The body on the Pritchard buck(2nd pic) is HUGE. Look at the size of the front leg. Mike Z and Dave R bucks are some wide boys for sure. Agree it would be nice to know if they were all NYS though. -
I've only hunted with the ML for less than 10 years but was always told before loading it for hunting, fire a primer to foul the barrel lightly. Then load it and you are good to go. I have not had any issues except for the year I had a scope put on it and it was only boresighted. I had it put on in the off season and never re sighted which was a big no no but I honestly forgot. When I missed a chip shot on a nice late season buck I went back and re sighted. 6 inches low at 50. Only suggestion I have is clean it. Shoot a primer and then load it and try that first shot to see what happens.

My bow buck headed to water last year as well (lots of it) but the shot was back and low as he turned as I released.
