  1. Unless you want to tell others their hunting is limited to what you call a trophy.
  2. As long as you leave that shade up I'm good
  3. So nobody using a notepad of any kind?
  4. I've said this since the beginning of the AR talk. Will add that even targeting them at 2 1/2 is no better as they are still a young IMMATURE deer - hardly a teenager in human scale. The vast majority of mandatory AR supporters either don't realize or will not admit they are after bucks that have a few more points or is SLIGHTLY bigger - and not a MATURE animal.
  5. You can view there and post comments - I set the account up that way. No good way to post pics though and that is what it is all about.
  6. I have an S7 - would like to use it on a bigger screen
  7. Anyone using Instagram? Just started and see it is designed primarily for mobile. I hate using my phone for any webwork. Wondering if it works well with a basic tablet. Really want to use a bigger screen.
  8. Not until the crossbow regulation authority goes to the DEC where it belongs. The best way right now is to join and support the NYS Crossbow Coalition who are lobbying every year to do this. Go to their website to learn more. NYS Crossbow Coalition
  9. Something small, hungary and does not have a nose
  10. Thanks! I was trying to see how wide a split I could do between the dock and the boat. Turns out not that wide. Not sure if I hit it on the dock or hanging on to the rope jerked it out.
  11. Pulled a 40 lb recurve but can't shoot enough to feel confident with it. Dusted off my Elite, turned it down to 43# and was able to shoot enough to get it sited in. Off to the woods mid week.
  12. Coyotes? Edit - didn't read the responses
  13. Pulled a 28# recurve today - some hope for the season. Setting up a low 40's recurve and turning the compound down to 48. Will wait a week and see if I can comfortably handle either one
  14. Those standards allow a big % of 1 1/2 to be shot as well as most 2.5. What's accomplished? Never mounted a deer and never will - just never been interested. Like to shoot them though - lots of does and rarely a 3.5+. Wouldn't join a lease where I had to mount anything - JMO
  15. 80 to 90% here most years. This year most likely be a compound or later crossbow unless the shoulder healing accelerates in the next couple weeks.
  16. Getting a little better every day. Good motion raising to the side - to the front stops at horizontal. Close to shouldering a crossbow - tried pulling a 28# recurve - made it about 2 inches. MRI next week. Thanks
  17. Don't do it bare azzed - so I have heard.
  18. Was definitely dislocated. How well it is doing now with lack of pain and bruising suggests I got lucky with minimal damage. A few days to see a top ortho doesn't seem hi risk to me. If condition changes there are some I can get into faster.
  19. Been reading a lot. Shoulder dislocations are 1 of the few injuries that is far harder for younger people to come back from. The younger you are at the 1st one, the higher the likelihood of having more and more serious ones. I'm 67 - 1st time. Was by far the worst pain I've ever had - way worse than my knee replacements. Amazed at how little it hurts now - and no bruising. Can actually lift the arm in the sling to near horizontal - probably further but not pushing it. See the ortho next week so just resting with ice and gentle movement/stretching for now. Thought at the time I may have ripped the cuff - actually feeling pretty fortunate right now. Nice to have 1 advantage over you young pups
  20. Probably. Maybe last 2 weeks with a crossbow.
  21. Any archers here ever dislocate a shoulder? What was your recovery like and long to feel comfortable pulling a bow? Dislocated my right one last saturday (rh shooter). Worst pain of my life. Out for 7 hours with getting to and thru the ER. Pain was gone as soon as it went in. Wearing a brace now - just some soreness with limited vertical range of motion. Going slow till I see my ortho next week.
  22. Watched a really drunk guy with a full 10" beard do it one night in a bar. Ended up with 1/2 a beard after knocking himself off the barstool trying to knock it out.
  23. Dislocated my shoulder last Sat. Still sore and minor pain when moving too much. Looks like missing 1st opener in 20 years.
