  1. OK we will be at camp the weekend of teh 27th.I will swing by and take a look and be in touch if it is something we are interested in pursuing any father.Thank you
  2. I have a camp in Worth NY that I stay at and a few of us have been talking about getting a camp up that way together. Can you give me some more particulars of the camp
  3. Main truck is a 08 silverado 6.6 duramax with 115k on it,pic taken a few weeks ago on my bear hunt in Maine and for fun a 1995 Jeep YJ that I tore into and did a front end swap with a MB grill, custom made hood,boatside's,4 inch lift and 33 in tire.Make for a fun time runnin the trails This is what it looked like when I bought it
  4. ASAP.We all know it may take a bit to get to depending on where he dropped. The main thing is cooling the meat and getting the fat off.I've ate bear plenty of times, one bear we didn't recover till the next morning(it was in the 40's that night) and it was still great.I can honestly say that the bear meat I have had I liked better than deer, deer to me has a more gamey flavor bear is a bit more chewy but when prepared right, both after the animal is killed and for the table bear is very good. One more thing we do is let the meat sit on a fridge or a iced down cooler for a few days before vacuum packing or wrapping in freezer paper and then packing it away in the freezer
  5. Fantail, where did you get the bottomland camo?
  6. I have a 870 with MagPul stock forearm and a 8 shot extension.SHoots great and is in good shape.$425 A JC Higgins 22 single shot bolt.Takes 22 S,L,LR $75 Mossberg Tube fed 22 takes S,L,LR,shoots good.Needs a buttpad and a trigger guard.$75 OK need to go through a FFL to be legal.I know it sucks but thats the way it is.I would alos trade one or all (+cash)towards a Mini14-30 or Winchester 88 or 100
  7. This is what I have used for the last 2-3 years and love it http://www.cabelas.com/product/Hunting/Optics/Rangefinders|/pc/104791680/c/104752080/sc/104525280/Bushnell174-Yardage-Pro174-Scout-1000-ARC-Laser-Rangefinder/721130.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Frangefinders%2Fbushnell%2F_%2FN-1100062%2B1000002937%2FNe-1000002937%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104525280%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104791680%253Bcat104752080%26WTz_st%3DGuidedNav%26WTz_stype%3DGNU&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104791680%3Bcat104752080%3Bcat104525280 My friends use these and they like theirs also http://www.cabelas.com/product/Hunting/Optics/Rangefinders|/pc/104791680/c/104752080/sc/104525280/Leupold174-RX600i-Rangefinder/1360955.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Frangefinders%2Fleupold%2F_%2FN-1100062%2B1000003881%2FNe-1000003881%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104525280%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104791680%253Bcat104752080%26WTz_st%3DGuidedNav%26WTz_stype%3DGNU&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104791680%3Bcat104752080%3Bcat104525280 One thing I do notice with the 2 units. If I range something at 25 yards theirs will read 31-32 yards its always a 6 yard difference.I actually tape checked mine and its dead on.I am not sure if they have to get their RF adjusted or what.I know they shoot as good as I do because they are sighted in for what their RF says.
  8. FInnwolf are to much $$$ for me.I have a friend that has a model 88 308 I am going to see if I can borrow to shoot to see how I like it.I just bought a Model 100 in 308 so the 88 would make a great pair.
  9. Thanks ants,maybe I should look at the Winny 88 more!!HA
  10. I am looking at getting one,I want a 308 and a pistol grip and just want to know what you guys think about them.I also wouldn't rule out a Winchester 88 either.I just want a HP rifle caliber in a lever.
  11. One more stand to move about 150 yards. Then I am ready to slay!! September 27th cant come soon enough
  12. my biggest buck had 12 inches of broadhead tipped arrow in its tenderloin.I am pretty sure it was a rage broadhead.......that ought to get some flames started!!!LOL
  13. I know anything I have bought from them has been top notch.I usually dont buy to much clothes from them unless its down to their store in PA so I can try it on.
  14. Thats what I am thinking also, she gets around just fine and has 2 fawns with her.If it happened last year I would imagine she wouldnt have fawns or would have died trying to mother them with a wound that bad.
  15. I don't think so...its clearly from a Sasquatch.Way to big to be chupacabra and our mountain lions here are a little stupid so I don't think they could kill a deer.
  16. Yea I am talking about the chunk out of her back
  17. I have quite a few videos of her,she also has 2 fawn running with her.
  18. We killed one on a friends farm like that during a deer drive.Would have made a nice mount if it didn't have 3 12 gauge slug holes in it
  19. Bow or gun it doesn't matter to me,its the time in the woods.Sure would I have more bucks on the wall if I had a gun during bow season. But I wouldn't have ONE on the wall except for last years if I were a bow only guy. With that being said I applaud your decision and hope you have a great season bow hunting, but if it comes down to it don't be beating yourself up any if you reach for the Ol' bangstick.Deep down we are"hunters" doesn't matter what implament we use.Good luck bud!!!
