Obama inauguration

Anyone else see the irony if today being MLK Day and the inauguration of a President who wasn't elected on the content of his character but solely by the color if his skin? Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2 -
You won't be unhappy. Mine shoots Hornady SSTs 1"groups at 100yds and they're straight up deadly on deer. None of mine ran more than 50 yds this year. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2

We ride motorcycles down in that area quite often. I've seen and heard them, but didn't ever have the urge to hunt them until I ate one. Hunting is fun for me, but my main reason is to put delicious meat in my freezer. I'll hold you to that guide offer! Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2

That may be an.option in the future, but in the mean time, $10/year to get a chance at hunting 4 hrs from home is worth it while I save up to hunt out west. That will probably be quite a few years since our first baby is 7- months and we're planning another in about a year. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2

That's my plan, to just pay the application fee then buy license and tag if I get drawn. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2

I has dinner at a buddy's place over the weekend and he grilled up some elk steaks that came off an elk his dad took in PA in Nov. Some of the best meat that's ever crossed my lips. Anyone here try for or draw an elk tag in pa? It's all I can think about since dinner Sat night. Id like to do it without a guide if it's possible. I've talked the wife into letting me spend the $100 for the non-res license answer $250 for the non-res elk tag if I get drawn, but I doubt I'll get her to go along with extra for a guide. Not sure where you are, but shop around. Bass Pro had them scoped last spring for 500 Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2

What about the language that proposes to change the definition of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the First Degree? Definition 2: "Possession of ten or more firearms" I guess someone who has a slug gun, a bird gun, a couple deer rifles, a muzzleloader, a .22 for plinking, a .17 for chucks, a .223 for yotes, maybe dad or granddad's old shotgun, .243 for the wife, and a pistol or two is going to be a felon. RIP 2A. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2 -
I've got a TC Pro Hunter FX ($599 Buyer's Club price at Sportsmans Club) to go along with my TC 209 Wildcat. Absolutely love it and couldn't imagine shooting anything else. I may even give up lugging the Savage 220 during regular gun season next year.

I just plowed about 14" from my driveway. I'm about 25 miles NE from downtown Ithaca, probably 15 miles from Cornell campus, as the crow flies. I didn't plow yesterday, as my plow truck was in need of a part that NAPA couldn't get until this morning, so that 14" includes what fell, and what was blown into my driveway. My field is anywhere from 0-18" depending on where the wind drifted it in. I assume Cornell is much the same

I don't have a problem with the wind with my 17HMR. I've never owned a 22WMR, so I can't comment on it's abilities. As long as you're not shooting in a hurricane, and you're a reasonably good judge of wind (and have knowledge of how it effects your round) you will be ok with any weapon

I put a deer on the ground in her tracks at 125 yds with the Hornady SSTs out of my 220. Probably won't ever hunt deer with the .30-06 again. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2

It turns out that none of those things happened. All I was saying is that I, knowing my training and experience, didn't discount the possibility that any or all could have. Like I said we had three experienced hunters looking for over four hours because I was certain that id made a good shot Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2

Not necessarily. As was my experience with the lost deer, we had three experienced hunters and didn't find blood or any sign of a hit deer. I'm an Army-trained marksman and it's not beyond possibility that I misread the wind, misjudged the distance or elevation, or just flinched. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2

That and I'm really wanting to see if the extended bow season had an.impact on gun harvests Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2

I'm interested to see the final take numbers. I know I didn't see as many this year as I have in the past. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2

Gotcha. I thought maybe I had missed something. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2

I walked outside around 4pm to get a bag of coal for the stove. Good thing my backup muzzleloader was in the shed and ready to go. Took a 40 yard shot at a nice fat doe and she fell where she stood. Overall, it was a good season. Three deer in the freezer will make for some good eats til next fall. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2

Same here. I'm "hunting" from my computer chair. IE, if I see something out the window, I'll step out on the back porch and take a shot, but I'm not all about getting sick.

Didn't see anything this weekend. Making my last stand this afternoon before I make my tag stew tomorrow. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2

Where in ny is buckshot legal? My copy of the regs says shotguns must fire a single projectile. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2

I asked because I wasn't sure what I should do. After the responses here and talking to other hunting buddies, I decided reporting it was the right thing to do. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2
