Doing some scouting today and tomorrow hard to find time with my job but was at the top of my hill and heard a hen yelping her head off non stop for a good 5 minutes then I found out why a tom gobbled about 70 yards in front of me the hen got closer and and he gobbled one more time then they both went silent. Caught a glimpse of the bird. Looks like a good size long beard

I'm going to be new to seneca county for this spring turkey season and was wondering how's the turkey hunting around there and is there any public land?. Can you hunt the finger lakes national forest? Thanks In advance

I'm looking to pick up some new camo that I can use for early archery and spring turkey. I'm not looking to spend a fortune on camo but want some decent stuff. Any suggestions would be appreciated

So my son got a $100 gift card from Dicks for Christmas....

Sounds like your son got a good deal. Just curious how much more would a trophy hunter or a axis 2 would have been? I have no problem with the axis as I think it's a great gun just don't like the trigger compared to a accu trigger -
I didn't like mine. I also didn't play with different bullets or powders. My brother borrowed and was getting the same results as the others have stated. He also took a button buck with it at 110 yards with open sites so he's happy with it. I like the feel of the gun just couldn't get good results with it

Don't troopers make 100,000+

I forget when I took the exam but it took about 6-8 months for the results then another 6 months to get the canvass. Once I got the canvass letter I did the interview psych exam and the interview with the psychologist within 6 weeks. I had my interview with the psychologist the 31st of May. So it's a pretty long ordeal. But I'll be retired by the age of 51!

I never gave bow hunting the respect it deserves....
Woodjr55 replied to ApexerER's topic in Bow Hunting
I love bow hunting. This is my second year and I love it way more then gun. This was a hard bow season hunted almost every single weekend and didn't see many deer. Actually I saw more deer this opening weekend then all of bow season. I also harvested a doe at 20 yards with my rifle was a perfect 20 yard shot. -
Wolcott guns has a nice indoor range 30 yards but has a bunch of 3d targets at different ranges

I know that the rub is from this year any idea on when from this year

I know that you can kinda tell the size of a deer by a run and I'm assuming by the size of the tree that this was made by a decent size deer. Am I correct to assume so?

There is the Alabama swamps about 45 minutes north of buffalo. It's a very large track of land that will take some scouting to locate a good spot. There is also the heartland swamps I believe up towards barker in niagara county lots of deer up that way. Darien lake I know you need to fill out a release form prior to hunting at the ranger station. Your best bet is to knock doors in the off season lots and lots of farms to hunt in Clarence and niagara county. For bear your best bet is to head south out of erie county Welcome to the site btw

I like the euros that get dipped in camo.

There isn't any state land by you?

So all summer I saw 3 or 4 does with there fawns on my trail cameras with no bucks. Now all I'm getting is small bucks (3 spikes 2 4 PTs and a small 6) any reason for this? Could the smaller bucks be chasing off the does? Their are some bruisers in area based of other hunter sighting.
