It followed me home..... Can I KEEP IT ??
-
Yup, Doc..My 50th is only 3 years away... Every morning when I wake up, I'm happy to still be looking DOWN at the grass.

Good job, DB.... Didn't work for me...I'm no longer married and my mother in law (God rest her soul) never DID like me !!
-
Don't give up...I'm 65 and nearly all of my friends were smokers ...Most of them have quit.. Of the ones who DIDN'T quit, most of them are dead..
-
AY-men !! Best post I've seen on here in a long time !!
-
Good work, Wooly !! I'm proud of you, my friend... Giving up the butts was the toughest thing I ever did... Now if I could only quit picking my nose, passing gas in public and sniffing bicycle seats, I'll be a regular CHOIR BOY....

Happy Birthday Paula, you sweet young THANG, you !!

I remember once, many years ago, there was an add in the classifieds of one of the local newspapers, The Elmira Star Star Gazette, for a substantial quantity of horsemeat canned in quart jars... I suspect that in general horses weren't used much for meat because they were much more valuable as working animals. A quote from a western movie, I believe it was William Holden in "The Wild Rovers"... Someone asked him what his horse's name was.. He said " You don't give a name to something you might have to EAT "....

The Mermaid gets all "moist" over Sam Elliot....Tom Selleck, too.... The only ass I ever could have kicked on my best day would be maybe Woody Allen or Tiny Tim... I might have been able to take Donald Duck, but I'd probably have to sucker punch him...

There's a man after my own heart...Nothing I like better than picking peas off the vine, shucking them and eating them right in the garden..I also like raw green beans and I have been known to pick a pepper ( sweet) off the bush and eat it like an apple...

Now that's FUNNY right there, I don't care WHO y'are.... -
I don't do a lot of gardening, just 3 raised beds( two 4x8 and one 3x3).. Everything I have in is doing well, however..My garlic is ready to harvest. I must get it dug within the next few days. Tomatos are coming along, plenty of blossoms and some small fruit, none big enough to fry yet.. I have been cutting and eating swiss chard for three weeks... My bush cukes are doing well, lots of blossoms. The zuchinni is not blossomed yet, but the plants are growing well. I got them in a little late, but soon I'll have more zuchs than I know what to do with.

This IS the politics forum......I see no problem with the thread's location... -
I have shot deer with a .222 Rem. It was the only centerfire I had at the time and it worked fine. I have no problem with people shooting deer with .22 centerfires if they so choose... However, intentionally using a .22 centerfire for deer because you feel it is more of a CHALLENGE, is probably the STUPIDEST reason I have ever heard to use one... WTF ??? Shoot 'em right and they die... Shoot 'em wrong and they go to waste.. I don't give a hoot WHAT you shoot, and I've killed whitetails with everything from a .222 to a .338 Win Mag.

"Thick Skinned Women ?? " I am personally offended by Curmudgeon, AKA " Supreme Turd Poker and Troll" suggesting that our tender lady members are similar to hippos, or at the very least, water buffaloes... I suspect that he is an aging hippie and draft dodger who fled to Canada to avoid his obligation for military service, and I suggest that as punishment for his crimes, we strap him to a gurney in a padded room and force him to listen to nonstop John Denver albums for a week.. -
Not much belly, relatively big ears... Looks like Boo Boo to me....

Actually, Larry it is a M70 lightweight laminate stock identical to mine...I ordered them both at the same time and the serials #s are within 150 digits of each other... Even not being a rifle guy, Kim is very meticulous and is a good rifle shot. He's a real whizz with the bow also.. He has a B&C elk, several P&Y elk and a number of P&Y whitetails on his wall..He doesn't have a mulie though...The area he is hunting, above treeline, makes it tough enough to get within good rifle range of a mature mule deer, much less bow range.

Thanks for the reply, OMG.. I have a .280 and have had good luck with both RL 19 and RL 22 with 140 grain bullets.. Not sure of the twist without checking, but in 1989 I worked up loads for this same rifle with 160 Nosler partitions and 160 Sierra Gamekings, and it shot very well with both..That was with IMR 4350...

I stopped by my buddy's place the other night and picked up his rifle, a box of 162 A max bullets ,50 brand new Norma cases and 100 primers.. The rifle is wearing a brand new bore sighted Vortex Viper 2.5 to 10....Looks like a nice scope, even if it is too big for my taste...I am looking forward to playing with it.. I decided I should check the bore before I spent a lot of time working up loads... It was FILTHY !! I don't think he has cleaned it since he bought the rifle in 1988 !! I spent an hour scrubbing rust and copper fouling out of it, and as far as I can tell without a borescope, it's pretty clean now and I can see no pitting.. I checked out the muzzle crown and it looks OK...Hopefully the accuracy of the rifle hasn't been affected by neglect... The owner is primarily an archer, and he's not too firearms savvy.. Now the process begins...I'll use a dummy round to establish starting seating depth, and then start some preliminary basic load testing..I have four powders available in the medium slow to slow range to work with...RL 19, RL 22, IMR 4350 and H4831..

Well, Larry, Biz DID tell us he was getting married...... Nice room, Biz !! That bobcat is a real monster !

I have seen what I would consider an "average" number...Perhaps a dozen or so in my day to day travels...Just yesterday I saw a doe with 2 fawns while mowing our property in Tuscarora...
