Nope...It is a Reno....Cheap gun...Bought for $100 new in 1968... It still had a pretty piece of walnut for the stock, and with 27" bbls choked mod and full, it handled like a dream and shot where I looked..A few years ago a good friend of mine fell in love with it, and since I hadn't used it in awhile, I sold it to him...He has 100 acres of excellent deer and turkey hunting land that he allows me to hunt on, so I can go VISIT my old gun whenever I want...Good deal all around.

Yes, it is a long recoil operated semi..It has the long recoil action , basically the same as the Browning A5..The barrel moves back several inches upon firing... The 1100, on the other hand, is gas operated, and the barrel remains fixed while the action is operated by a piston system which bleeds off gas from the fired round to operate the action... The 48 was a 3 shot version of the 11-48..Otherwise they are identical..The 48, 11-48, and 1100 were all produced in 12, 16, 20, 28 gauge and .410 bore. Other than THAT, I don't know anything about them....<<grin>>.....

I think that cousin "Shorty" is standing under the gown. That would account for the wide smile on the bride...Or whatever she is...

My main small game gun for a number of years was a Spanish SxS in 28 gauge...I shot many grouse, pheasants, woodcock, crows, rabbits and squirrels with that gun.. I eventually switched to a 20 gauge SxS because ammo was much cheaper, but the 28 killed game just as efficiently as the 20..I also owned a Rem M48 Sportsman in 28 gauge for a few years, but the stock had been shortened by the previous owner, and it never fit me as well as the little Spanish double.

I sure can't tell, but even if a red fox WERE carrying the head of a fawn, there;s no way to know where he got it...Could have been a roadkill or a fawn killed by a haybine or some other farming implement.

Thanks...I currently own only one 16 gauge gun, a Winchester M12, but I have owned several over the years...My first 2 shotguns were in 16 gauge, an Eastern Arms Co. single barrel and a Rem 11-48... With the 16 gauge, I killed my first grouse, my first pheasant, my first woodcock, my first wild duck (drake woodie) and my first fox.. My first rabbit, squirrel and crow were shot with a .22, but my first SHOTGUN taken game of these species were also shot with a 16 gauge.. I agree it is an ideal upland game gun, and was also a great duck gun back when you could use lead shot... You only need one load for it...One ounce of #6 shot.....

I don't know if YOU will be golden, but the FOUNTAIN might be if you pee in it enough times..

Geeze, Wooly, I always heard that size doesn't matter...At least that's what my old girlfriends used to tell me....For some reason they were usually giggling when they said that..

I don't shoot nearly as much as I used to, and I am fortunate to have bought what will probably be a lifetime supply for me well before the hoarding and price gouging began..Most of the ammo I have was bought at $8.99 per brick of 500.. Just as a comparison...I bought his ammo perhaps in the 1990s... That's about 90 cents per box of 50.. When I was a teenager in the early 1960s, the local hardware store sold boxes of 50 for 80 cents for LR solids, and 90 cents for LR hollow points.. Not a big increase in 30 years...Compare that to TODAY's prices...

It's one of them there pumacougars for sure... I see 'em ALL the time around here...Sitting in trees....Hissing, spitting and SCREAMING like women... DAMN..!!...I wish the DEC hadn't STOCKED the damn things, along with those pesky coyotes !!

I was not aware of any of that, Dinsdale... However, the only time I set the trigger was when I was ready to shoot..I have only used the set trigger a couple of times on game...My single stage pull is fine for hunting on my 550 and I use that most of the time when hunting..I find the set trigger very handy while working up loads on the bench.

Not to worry, the only interest a young woman would have with this worn out old fart would be MONEY, and I don't have any.. Besides, I haven't had sex in so long I can't even remember who gets tied up !
