  1. I use the regular evercalm (black and yellow) as a cover scent and never had an issue with deer getting spooky. Just yesterday i had a doe walking on the trail i walked with Evercalm on my boots. Few years back i also had a ground blind experience I will never forget. Sprayed a ton of buck bomb(red can) outside if a ground blind i just set up. Monster buck came in sniffing the air like crazy and almost walked right in my blind. I drew back at like 6 yards from the ground and shot through the fat of his backstraps i guess and never saw that deer again.
  2. I live in Westchester, 20 minutes from NYC. I put my deer uncovered on a rack. I butcher my own deer after i hang it in my backyard tree where at least 6 neighboring houses can see it-not to rub it in their faces but because it is the right tree for the job. When i do i have neighbors coming over, hesitant at first and they leave with meat in hand and smiling. Why? Cause they are curious and i am doing more good for hunting and myself and them then hunting like i am doing something wrong. When i started teaching in the Bronx i would bring my bird dog and pheasant he flushed to football practice after hunting the morning if we had Sunday games. THAT’s an education, no? 3. If he identifies and drinks like a bird, can you go after him with the shotgun now? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Something smells fishy with this process! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Live from NYC waiting for daughter to finish her THREE HOUR Broadway Youth Ensemble practice. Just saw the biggest squirrel ever - odd thing is he has a real skinny tail and lives in rhat AC Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Who was supposed to start that thread for how to remove the hooves and the “toe bones” that look like shark teeth? Clearly you didn’t expect me to harvest a deer this quickly?!? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Red’s Deer Burritos You need a drag, put it in our bag! $19.95 plus S & H But wait there’s more... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. That looks terrible- i am willing to remove it for you. PM an addy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Atta boy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I gave TF some props in the harvest thread for this idea - mine is a heavy duty advertisement sign from Ashley Furniture that they were using ad a drop cloth. The tip to still keep the drag rope on the deer is critical. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Just got it in the harvest thread as i now wait for my boys baseball practice to be cancelled - aSsboxes don’t realize its pouring!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. On stand by 6:15 and by 6:20 i hear the distinct crunch we all love. A shadowy figure comes creeping through at what i know is 18 yards and heads out. 7:15 brings another doe from behind me who decides she likes the smell of the Evercalm (regular strength) and is nosing the trail where i walked with it smeared on my boots. Gets to about 40 yards in some brush and decides that she would rather follow the other deer trail instead of mine. Hit the bleat can and no interest. 8:05..a nice doe comes through one level too low traveling North to South (left to right on your radio). Tickle some tines...she looks and not that interested. 8:15....whats that i hear? Yup! Coming from where the very first doe in darkness came which would put her at 18 yards...only its not a her but a spike i was hoping would be under the 3” to count as a doe foe the program. Meat first - ZIPPED him! Ran off a long way and when I lost sight i hear more crunch crunch crunch. Reload and sure enough....another spike who gets to star in my first deer selfie. Wait 25 minutes or so ...climb down to find a complete pass through and good blood at the got site. Head back tot he tree to pack up a bit before i track and look up to see two more doe heading my way. Cant shoot them from the ground in this program so they head back from whence they came. Long track that ended where i whiffed on a doe at 3 yards two seasons ago. Thats my tree in the background of this pic and the entrance (Nap Thunderheads) Long drag made easier with a TF idea and some scrounging the local Ashley furniture store-deer taco worked like a charm. What a day after seeing nothing in all my sits. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Sorry for the delay but this happened right BEFORE the deer selfie. More pic and story in harvest thread eventually. Juggling the three kids without mrs crappy this weekend so wasn’t even supposer to hunt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. How much do the yankees miss Mo? How dare you hang a slider to altuve with that chode on deck? The stats in this series are remarkably similar. Gardy, Didi, dirty sanchez and the ass with the fake parrot failed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Pretty sure it wasn’t him...see i am IN the woods so unlikely we would cross paths Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. i had an unidentified walk through at 6:20 just as i was unclipping my bow. And just before legal i had a doe come in from behind. Walked my evercalm trail and hung up- then followed first deer out of my life Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Ouch....4 hours after watching a crushing defeat of the yankees the alarm punches me in the face. Wasn’t going this weekend but if Tacks can get one like he did, this might just be THE weekend! I kid of course! 44 now to 54 by 10 with nominal NW wind in 3S...love a doe to stop by in a few hours Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Well theres that....guess its football season now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I was supposed to clean it???? This head was skinned([emoji26]-no ears either) and split so much of the yucky bits were cleaned already. I did rinse it thoroughly and scrub all the cut crevices. I did not taste an eye...didn’t love the tongue as i hoped i would...may cancel my plan of trying a deer tongue this year(if a deer ever shows up). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. What the f?....how’d you get to TCiii buck?!?!? Another WNY work day??? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Tasty for sure.../yields enough for two. I cant eat too much though since its so rich and fatty(in a good way!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
