What a gentleman!!! I use none of the three-love my climber and hated lighted nocs....i am easily distracted by shiny things and found that i would not follow through when shooting lighted nocs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I was in there - ever have one of those sits where you just weren’t feeling it? Me neither..until today! Not sure if it was the fog, rain, wind, choice of tree(not my favorite!) or the White Castle....it just felt wrong so i packed it in early. Saw doe and a fawn near my car which made the trip worth it for the intel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Needed a personal day (get a bunch of those along with summers off and long weekends and two weeks at Christmas and....) for some well, personal business! WC was a poor decision..:what can i say...i am weak! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Finally got around to cleaning my head and arrow from Sunday mornings spike. Nap thunderhead- point was fine so just replacing the blades. After cleaning the shaft(hehe!) i noticed what looks like a crack in the arrow and a chip in the insert where the head screws in. Flexed it a bunch of directions and no snap. Not taking any chances regardless so that arrow is now in the trash. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Absolutely not!!! I hate that I live in Westchester! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I had a colleague offer his back hill to me in Westchester since the deer were destroying his flowers...all legal clearances from neighbors-bow only. Quick scout - find heavy trail to shrubs from woods , climb and wait. 3:30 i hear the first footsteps of the neighbor’s kid heading to the garage to get his big wheels. As he is riding around, i climb down and never return. Imagine me sticking a deer that then death runs past that kid? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I see your point Todd - tasteful is better. How I accomplish this (even for those who i dont get to speak with) is by putting the “gutted side in” facing the trunk so others travelers do not need to be overexposed to the reality of what just happened. I clean up the excess blood and try to tuck that tongue back in. I clean myself up (no bloody hands at the gas station!). I wave, “tip my cap” and act like nothing is odd about having a deer on the back of my car to travelers who I see on the road who are noticing my prize. Often, if they are leery at first, then wave and smile back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I disagree-the “general population” has made no conscious decision about hunting but has been indoctrinated to think hunting is just wrong because the sweet little critters deserve life(media depicts hunting guns and camo as scary, Bambi, trophy hunters only taking horns, etc). As a result, they have no idea what is actually happening when and why and how deer and animals are harvested/hunted. By me not hiding my harvest, i am opening a dialogue with those uneducated about hunting so the actual story can be told. Will i convert them all - nope! Will I respectfully show them a different way of seeing hunting vs the impression of Hollywood and the media...hope so! I talk about the organic meat i now have for my family, the help to the forest rehab program, the reduction of car accidents or ticks, the leather i make, the time spent in nature with my kids. This has changed the impression of every one i speak with in the most liberal, uppity sections of Westchester. They don’t run out and join NRA, but they also dont hold an image of a beer guzzling, bearded, toothless, reckless, redneck who kills everything that media and Disney portrays! You mean he didn’t simply confirm the process of allowing the bone soup to simmer for a year in the basement next to Mama’s laundry room and then strain soup in the tub? Shocking!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Gonna be live from traffic court and DMV today - what amazing pre-cold front locations to be. Hoping the first bit of rain doesn’t reach 3S until after last light and I get out of DMV quick to hit the woods for a pm hunt to salvage some part of this day! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Glad to hear that for you and your son. I am at the opposite end of this youth baseball thing and my issues are different. I have 1 twin who loves the game, was the catcher who threw out a runner or two per game, caught multiple games per weekend and batted 2nd(maintaining a close to 400 batting average).all in a high quality league. He has little interest in pursuing baseball for his HS team (he is a freshman and the varsity coach wants him this season) or beyond because it would mean less crew which is what he loves and wants to do in college. However, he still wants to PLAY baseball, not be at showcases or scout days or team spotlight camps. Finding TEAMS who practice 1-2 times a week and play games at the HS level are hard to find for kids who JUST WANT TO PLAY and not be recruited or timed in the 90 or registered on the Velo machine or recorded “pop times” or designated as a PO(pitcher only) at 14 years old. Every parents’ kid will be the next great scholarship player and these programs are feasting on that! Sad. This has nothing to do with your son’s progress, Zag, or stats or your desire to have him do his best. Just my rant about youth baseball when they try to end the youth way too young!
