  1. "The process of selective breeding typically requires animals of known and often narrow pedigrees to be intensively handled and frequently medicated. Bucks from which semen is collected often are physically or chemically restrained and subjected to electro-ejaculation, whereby an electric probe is inserted into the buck’s rectum and energized until ejaculation occurs." Oh man, those poor bucks. And here we were thinking it was bad enough going to a urologist for a digital prostate exam. If there is any reason to ban deer farms this would be it!!
  2. Yeah, that's how the bone collectors usually think. But like I said, knock yourselves out!
  3. Just wait until that baby comes along, Elmo! They are cute and all, but also a LOT of work. And the work just gets harder as they grow older. I can also envision you being a caring, hands-on type of father, so the hunting time (or ANY free time) will surely suffer. Just telling you the truth here.
  4. I tell you what, you can go ahead and knock yourself out with that type of hunting, you aren't making many of us envious no matter what kind of bucks you find down there. The rest of us will wait until we die to be repelled down into hell. Will be way less strenuous then. LOL
  5. Not all of us guys are so helpless. Many of us can cook, do the laundry, and we got by quite nicely before we got married. I look at it this way. Since we men obviously must have been drunk, or had a serious lapse of good judgement when we actually asked a woman to marry us, you woman surely didn't have to say YES. That might have spared both halves some grief in my opinion. LOL
  6. Well, good for you that you can do spend all that time doing it. However, I can assure you that the rest of us who don't hunt or fish as much as you, don't spend the rest of our free time just watching TV either. We can only wish that their was nothing else for us to do in life once we leave work other than hunting, fishing or watching TV.
  7. So you think Mr.B preferring to stay home is due to him being afraid of the competition, or because he finally gets some peace and quiet from his other half?? LOL
  8. If you are hunting 200 days, that is not a pastime, but more like a livelihood. There are generally 260 working days (52 weeksX 5 work days) in a year, so 200 days is far more than a pastime.
  9. My question would be WHY would any guy want to take the other half hunting? To me hunting is about the only time I can escape family commitment, so why bring it all with me when I want some peace and quiet for a change?? No way for me. Women can get under a guys skin without even trying hard, so why subject myself to it the few weekends each year I want to escape everything? No bloody way. If they want to go hiking in the woods to enjoy nature, no problem, we can do that the rest of the year. Hunting I will do solo.
  10. I guess the real answer would be NOT what WE think is the most prevalent violation, but what violation gets the most summonses issued by the DEC. With the few DEC officers out there I somehow don't think violations like baiting, shooting before/after legal time, etc. in most cases ever get summonses, although it's most prevalent. Most often issued summonses I think would go to the incorrectly filled out tags, since they are probably the easiest for a DEC officer to nail a hunter on.
  11. As bad as this one is, NFA-ADK's videos of him shooting his bow yesterday still gets the prize for all time worst on this forum. LOL
  12. Ok, if you say so. Where is the does NOT like this button when someone needs one??
  13. With the relatively few DEC officers that there are around, I think mighty few actually ever get caught for shooting before or after legal time. Probably the easiest violation not to ever get caught doing.
  14. Well if it was property where I absolutely knew I'd be seeing deer each and every day at, I maybe would be more selective be it a buck or doe. I'd surely let a small skinny doe walk in hopes of a more plump one. That is surely NOT the case where I hunt, however. And before the cowboys here get on me for shooting everything and anything, the place I hunt is 180 acres and is only hunted by two of us. On a good years, we will take tops 4 deer off of it if we get doe tags, so it's NOT like we are gunning the place dry. In some more mountainous places like we hunt just west of the Catskill range, you just don't see deer every time out. If you wait long enough and think the big one will come around tomorrow you will get skunked. And like I said my goal when I am hunting is to put something down, otherwise I can just go hiking on a nice summers day instead to enjoy the outdoors. Hunting season for me is to bring some venison home.
  15. I will say incorrectly filled out tags. If you forget to put down the date, or other mistake on your tag, you will get a summons. The summons may not be as big as for other more serious violations, but I think there are more summonses issued for incorrectly filled tags than for all others.
  16. Not everyone grows into being selective. For many it's not about antlers and it will NEVER be. I've hunted deer since the late 70's, and I could care less about antlers. You can call me a cold blooded killer, or a brown and it's down guy, I don't mind in the least. If I am going into the woods during deer hunting season, my plan is to put something down. Otherwise I can go hiking for FREE at any other time of the year and don't need to buy a license or wait for cold hunting season weather to do it. With the limited amount of time I and many others these days have to hunt, I am pretty sure that much of this being "selective" talk is nothing but hot air. When push comes to shove, and if that forkhorn happens to come by just before the season ends, even these "selective" sportsman may very well be pulling the trigger, most especially in areas where doe permits are not easy to come by and the alternative is going deerless for the season. I've said it before, this antler restriction talk is nothing but BS. In reality the DEC could give a hoot about the antlers that a deer happens to be wearing when it gets shot. They want deer shot, and that's pretty much it. If it wasn't for deer population control, there wouldn't even be a deer season, so we shouldn't think that deer seasons are somehow implemented with trophy hunters in mind. AR's are simply the figment of hunters imaginations in thinking that they may have a better chance in killing a big antlered buck if AR's are imposed on everyone and nothing more. The only reason the DEC implemented AR's in the areas they have was because of these cry baby hunters who wanted them. If some hunters want to let the younger bucks walk, let them, but please don't go telling me and others that I should do the same all in the name of antler glory.
  17. It wasn't us who left that mess. You didn't even let us into your cabin when we did your food plots. Didn't even offer us a stinking glass of water actually. Next year we are going back to trespassing on your land when you aren't there.
  18. Well yeah, Elmer did say that it's been a fantasy he's had for a good while now.
  19. No Burt, that's not us. The attached picture shows us hard at work on your food plots to get permission to hunt your property for 2 days this Fall. You must be color blind or something?? Those white trash folks in your picture must be someone else on the forum.
  20. There is no outrunning us. The only reason we are taking you bear hunting is to use you as bait. We will tie you to a tree, smear you with honey and lard, and put donuts in your pocket and under your hat.
  21. Honestly, I found those mounts to be the worst known to mankind. I'm not kidding either. I have seen those on numerous rifles. You can practically wiggle the scope side to side with those mounts. Something better should definitely be bought.
  22. And here we were thinking that your name "the blur" meant that you had some blazing speed. I guess it's sort of like calling a fat guy "slim". LOL
  23. Just watched it. To spare the next viewer some dizziness, headache and motion sickness, I suggest they take some dramamine before they view the videos. LOL
  24. Nope. Way more hunters that will screw with other hunters than anti's. I've been hunting 36 years and have NEVER been interfered with by an anti. However, please don't ask me about all the clown hunters I've come across.
  25. I think that you two buddies were the knuckleheads here and not the girl. Instead of laughing and horsing around, you should have shown her the proper ways to handle a gun. You both knew she was inexperienced and now you want to blame her. You two are definitely MORE at fault in this incident than she is.
