Mechanically they don't differ much, but in my view an "assault rifle" is a high-powered rifle (not rimfire) that can have a large-capacity magazine attached to it. Yeah, arguments can be made about a Remington 7400 and a Browning BAR being mechanically the same, BUT, I don't see 30 round or more magazines sold for them like they are for AR and AK rifles. You can get them anywhere for these rifles, while someone would have to concoct something for the 7400 or the BAR out of sheet metal to hold nearly as many rounds, if it were ever made to feed properly. That's the BIG difference here. Have we seen the Remington or Browning used in a mass shooting?? I don't know, but we all do know that AR and AK style guns have been. So there you have it.

Maybe not, but killing someone with a gun is a hell of a lot easier than slashing his throat, strangling them or killing by any other means. I as a gun owner have no qualms in admitting this, while everyone else here can't seem to understand it. If guns didn't make killing easier, why are most murders committed with them? There most definitely is a correlation between the two, and NO one will ever convince me that there isn't, so NO one need to even try. Sorry.

They are now saying up to 18 kids dead with 27 total dead. I hope these numbers don't go up. This will be the straw to break the camels back on the gun issue in this country. I will guarantee it. It's one thing killing adults, but it's something entirely different killing innocent elementary school kids.

The 400lbs gals need some loving too. I'll leave them for you and Culver, though. LOL
-
If they said no hunting, then I don't think you have any legs to stand on if you get caught.
-
I would call the county park office. They will let you know if you can hunt there or not. I wouldn't trust what the DEC is telling me here.

You're a good son, I can tell that about you. I guess you just do what your gut tells you to, but like others have said, you still can never make everyone happy. It's your and your wife's big day. That's what should make EVERYONE happy, and they shouldn't be so concerned with themselves.

Elmo are her parents or yours paying for the wedding? The problem is that when parents pay for their kids wedding, they think they can do whatever they want and invite anyone they want. The key is to pay for the wedding yourselves and then NO one can tell you what to do. That's what I did and kept it very small. In this day and age, I can't understand how parents can still be dumb enough to pay for their kids weddings with divorce rates being like 50%? If two people want to get married, they themselves should be the ones coughing up the money for it. Case closed in my opinion.

And when the 400 lbs girls start looking good to us, we know we've had one glass too many! LOL

Just looking at packaged calf liver at the store makes me want to wretch. I just can't stand to look at it, let alone smell it or eat it. I couldn't imagine deer liver being any better, so I toss it out along with the rest of the guts in the field. Never tried heart either. Not that there is ever much left of the heart since my bullet usually sizzles thru it. LOL, well some of the time anyway! Elmo, make sure you don't waste time getting to eat the backstrap. I do flour it a bit and fry in oil and butter for a few minutes on each side. You can season any way you like. Once that's done I put some red wine in the pan and let the whole thing simmer on very low heat for another couple of minutes. For me the wine makes the whole thing taste even better.

No $#!+ Doe! We come to this site to exchange hunting info with one and all, no matter what color or creed they may be, and then we run into this? I had a feeling someone would go down this road on a thread called "Black squirrells" and it sure looks like we weren't disappointed! Thanks a lot BELO!

Post British rule. We were both born post 1961 when Tanzania gained it's independence from Britain.

Me and Doewhacker happen to be Tanzanian, and we take offense to your comments here. We are reporting you to the moderators. WNY, Belo needs to be taken behind the shed again for a good ole fashion you know what!

I'm never too generous in giving it away. One deer doesn't go a long way and then you end up with little or nothing for yourself. Some people think you get a couple of hundred pounds of meat from a deer, which is definitely NOT the case. It will go real fast, I can assure you if you are too generous. Your first deer especially, you should savor most of all for yourself!
-
I bet Belo couldn't get away with calling you dog breath?? LOL
-
I reckon you won't be offended if we call you dog breath then? LOL
-
Make sure you age the tag for at least 7 days.

OK, next time me or Doe kill something we will send our GPS coordinates to you. We fully expect you to come out and give us a helping hand. Maybe that will get us to stop our "ball and chain" jokes.
-
Elmo my friend, let me assure you, and I'm sure the other married guys around here will second this. Dragging that deer out is NOTHING compared to what lugging that ball and chain around your neck for the rest of your life in marriage will be like! LOL
-
Funny, those cheap Federals shoot as good as the expensive stuff in my .270 also. Used to shoot the Premium stuff, but have gone back to the cheap stuff since prices have gone way up. It will definitely kill deer also. Just don't want to be paying $40+ for 20 rounds of ammo.
-
I would say that was the mark the drag rope made on his shoulder while dragging her out.
-
Congratulations Elmo!!! I know you were looking forward to making that first kill and now you have! Great job!

I agree with you there. We can try to justify just about anything in life, but it still don't always make it right. It's sort of like saying I smoked pot but didn't inhale. LOL
