Shot a coyote with one last fall. I cant complain but maybe the coyote will! I'll be using them again this fall for deer.

Yep.....Just enough to be dangerous! -
Yes, thank you

Anyone know the name of the law that protects NY landowner if someone gets hurt on their land hunting? I'd like to find the law on the internet so I can print it out to show landowners when asking permission to hunt.

I see more deer in the afternoons during the early season. Once the rut phases start, I see more deer during the mornings right up till about noon. It could have a lot to do with hunting public land too. There are more people around in the afternoons on public land!

I put one of the string stops made by Limbsaver on my Switchback XT. It definitely makes a difference!

Predator Fall Gray or the new Predator Deception 3D. I have a Heater Body Suit that is Predator Brown Deception and I disappear in that too.

Where I hunt the wind changes direction all the time. During a sit, you can almost guarantee the wind will blow from every direction at least once!. I do set my stands according to which way the wind blows most often, but that is no guarantee. I'm also a scent control freak, which I know helps. You cant fool a deers nose but I think what happens is that if you reduce your scent enough, they think you're a few hundred yards away instead of right on top of them! And where I hunt, they are used to smelling people a few hundred yards away.

My taxes on that house were $1300. They are $2800 on my new house, which I paid cash for so I don't have a mortgage payment.

What size are your groups at 20 yards? If you cant stack arrows at 10 yards, you have no business going out in the woods with a bow! I know a lot of people want to give you the benefit of the doubt because your a young kid trying to make it work, but I'm being honest. If you cant hit a 4 inch circle every time, you should not be shooting at deer at that distance or farther. If I shot 10 or 15 yards I'd be ruining arrows and you should be too. If you're shooting an 8 inch group, you are definitely doing something wrong or something is wrong with your equipment. Unfortunately, diagnosing whats the problem is next to impossible over the internet.

My best day out without shooting a deer was definitely the day my son shot his first deer when he was 15. It was cold and raining so I texted him to tell him I was getting down. As I was walking out of the woods he texted me back that he just shot one. Definitely one of my best days hunting ever!

No kidding!! I pay $2800 for my school taxes on 2000 sq feet and 2 acres. You guys downstate are getting raped! And as far as property values go, I just sold my old house for $85k and bought it 10 years ago for $67k. I think that was a fair return on my money. Wouldn't have earned that much interest sitting in the bank for 10 years!

just developed a new PRE-SHOT ROUTINE...CHECK IT OUT!!

Try shooting stricty at a 3D target. Sometimes those bullseyes can make your mind whack right out!! -
Heres a better pic of my biggest one.

It don't look like you're overspined.I'm in the process of re-tuning my bow too as I just had to put new strings on it. I have a press you can use if you cant wait for yours. I live in Baldwinsville by Beaver Lake.
-
This is right off the Easton tuning guide. If you already tried all these fixes, I would bring the bow back where you got it and tell them either fix it or give you your money back. BTW...where did you buy it? This tear indicates a stiff arrow reaction for right-handed archers using finger release (RF, CF). Left-handed finger release archers will have an opposite pattern. This is an uncommon tear for right-handed compound archers using a mechanical release (CR). However, it can occur and generally indicates that the arrow rest position is too far to the right or that there is possible vane contact on the inside of the launcher rest.

Anyone every find pot plants well out in the woods
Arrow Flinger replied to HectorBuckBuster's topic in General Chit Chat
We found some up right behind the radio tower on Searsburg Road one year while scouting around. Figured it was probably the Forest Ranger Mobbs stash so we left it alone -
Heres my best NY bucks. The one on the right scores 161" net. All of these bucks were taken on public land!
-
Haven't found any rubs but scrapes started popping up in one of my areas about a week ago!
-
Same here. If I don't have meat in my freezer close to the end of the season, and a little buck walks by, he's going down. If I get lucky enough to shoot a doe or 2 early, then I'll wait for the biggun'!

what the best bow pro shop in your county of NY
Arrow Flinger replied to sweet old bill's topic in Bow Hunting
I just had a delightful experience there myself. My bottom cam is making a vibrating noise when I shoot, so I drove the hour to their shop. I went inside and had 2 kids look at my bow and say it was a bad bearing. That was it. They didn't even offer to fix it under Mathews warranty. Just told me the bearing was bad and went on to help other customers! I do all my own work on my bow but need to have a Mathews dealer do the warranty work. Too bad all the Mathews dealers in CNY are a joke! Guess I'll have to buy a different brand after hunting season. I really like the Elite Answer! All I can say about Legends of the Fall is, if you want teenagers to work on your bow then that's the place to go!! -
What do you consider wingspan? Tip of middle finger to tip of middle finger? I've never tried this method. I've always had the shop measure my draw and they say I'm a 30 but I have always though my draw length should be a bit longer. They probably just told me I was a 30 because that's as long of a draw my bow came in. I have the wingspan of a Sasquatch!!
-
Wow, this thread ha gone way off topic!! Like I already stated, a WB is just as accurate as a drop away as long as they are both tuned properly. The only drawback of a WB is the noise upon drawing during cold weather that may happen.Just because it hasn't happened to you don't mean that it doesn't happen.

My brother has one, but we don't talk anymore. Plus you're a long ways away from me. Maybe if I go see a Yankee game I'll hit ya up!

A lot of guys I know think their bow is shooting its IBO rating! Then they shoot it through a Chrono and are shocked. I don't bend over backwards to know how fast my bow is shooting but if I get a chance to shoot it through a Chrono I will just to see.
