    Got dad’s spike hung, we left the hunting spot at 0430. 9 deer 1/4 mile down the road and a spike was chasing a doe fawn. Round 2 rut coming.

    May not be much but in the 12 years we’ve hunted together this is the first time he’s gotten one when weve been out together!

    My dads brain, he brought Sabot slugs with a smooth bore. Luckily he has been corrected for this evening.

    Doe and 2 fawns came by at 50, decent buck at 100 behind then but he didn’t follow

    Climbed into stand at 0300, quickly saw this doe and a smaller one bedded 120 yards away. Slowly came my way and made a perfect 45 yard shot with a rage hypo +p. First snow blood trail. She made it about 80 yards on a double lung pass through.

    Nice buck there! not many of them look score able but i don't think that matters anyway! I sat in the falling snow, had a doe bed at 40 yards for about an hour and a spike come through at 4pm. Tomorrow evening any decent size doe or 2.5 year old gets an arrow.

    Lol, as long as I’ve been hunting I’ve never had a bloodtrail in the snow. Pretty much any good doe or decent buck will drop if in range.

    Saw 8 deer in peoples yards and not one from the stand for the first time in the deer sanctuary. Here’s the 7 I passed with the 6 the other day. After speaking with the neighbor who hunts we’ve determined the big 6 is 3.5 and is huntable.

    Snuck out behind my house, tracks everywhere. Think the people hunting the hill are pushing them into the creek like what usually happens during gun season.

    Bumped deer will come back, and I’ve had lots off deer come to human urine!
