I believe, and I'm am sure I will be corrected if I'm wrong :-) it says in the game law book you can not " hunt " them but if you see one while you are deer hunting you can shoot it ?? Did I read that right ?

Every year I get to hunt is a good season to me. I did not see many deer. A lot of does but I did see a few very nice bucks, just couldn't connect. Rifle season was the norm for me, saw a nice buck way off in the distance but it was trotting and didn't shoot. Only deer I saw gun season. I had a blast putting in my food plots and watching the deer use them so I had a good season. Just have to buy more beef cuz the freezer is empty and unplugged,

Right before I squeeze the trigger I think of the work that follows, gutting, dragging, butchering and listening to my anti hunter wife carry on about shooting a " woman " lol so I usually let it go, but if I need the meat or someone I know wants it I will shoot one, just won't do it just to fill a tag.

When I see them come to the Catskills, sit in a cold tree stand with a camera man whispering to each other , and shoot a big buck after opening day, then I will be impressed

I agree. I have mixed emotions about it too. I pass on small bucks but that's me. I don't need to kill to enjoy the hunt. however young hunters that would be excited to shoot a small buck should be able to do it. Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Forum Fiend v1.0.1. -

Like I said before, I married an anti hunter, the kind that had thoughts of running over guys in camo on the side of the road lol. We argued from Oct 1st to January the first 4 years of marriage. It was tough but she came around and saw how important it was to me. She loves coming up to camp with me now, and we have an agreement, I am not allowed to discuss details of the kill
