Wow. Talk about patronizing.
-
That's not a social barrier, that's a cultural prejudice. Big difference.
-
Wow. How long has this been going on?

Get some Great lakes Gelatin in your diet. I bet you will see improvement. I add some to my morning coffee, ice-cream and most cooked meals. It helped me get over a serious tendon rupture once, and cured my post martial-arts knee injuries.

SAFE Act Changes
The_Field_Ager replied to fasteddie's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Truth takes a backseat to entertainment in modern America. The people like their bread and circuses. Give it a year. That will all have changed. -
Yeah, but only for one racial group. How is that supposed to bridge the racial divide we keep hearing about? The article posted isn't about a love of nature. It's about showing whitey that Black people can do it too, by themselves, in segregated groups. What would Morgan Freeman say?

I'd love to, I really would. But when folk keep posting racial oriented topics, it gets kinda difficult.

The entire article and the OP title for one. 'Outdoor Afro: Busting Stereotypes That Black People Don't Hike Or Camp' Didn't you read it?

This is isn't about race. Another well meaning but divisive strategy to set black folk apart as 'different' somehow. The reality is that plenty of poor white city folk (and other races) also have no 'awareness' of the great outdoors. It's about money and the ability to engage in these activities. If you don't have a car, and most poor inner city folk don't, outdoor activities are not on the radar for some very practical reasons. Poor folk also don't seem to make the distinction between recreational time versus work time. If you don't or can't work, it's all the same. Recreational time does not have the same connotation if you are unemployed or under employed. Geography also plays a factor. Poor folk in the country are surrounded by the outdoors and engage with it more. Again, making this a black issue is just adding to the never ending cycle of creating race issues where none exist.

A similar thread was started recently. It looks like it will do the job. Exercise bands can be purchased for less money and will also work. The bands come in different degrees of resistance, which will allow you to work up to the harder resistance levels. It's true that most sedentary lifestyles will not work the bow draw muscles much. This could be said of most of our muscle groups tho. Dumbbell row exercises will also help

anyone use an Action Camera to video their hunts

I just got a Go pro. I am planning on using it this season. Will wear it as head gear so I don't have to make any extra movements with hands. -
I would place my one and only stand right next to where the deer like to pass. I've gotten pretty good at hauling ladder stands from one tree to another. I can get 'em down and up in under 20 minutes.

SAFE Act Changes

Dave Dipietro says this memo has no legal standing, and is simply PR for the parties involved. -
Yeah, the self same folks who keep the political threads hot and live. The irony isn't lost on me.

There are a lot of folks out there who like to compartmentalize. And in a way, I get it. It's nice not to have to deal with reality, especially when it comes to our past-times. Unfortunately Hunting is a controversial issue today for many, not least in part because of the fire-arms aspect. Anti-gunners will one day ruin US hunting, mark my words. And those 3 or 4 whiny little snot noses round here who want the world to play by their rules, are totally complicit in what it is coming.

Buy a couple of those exercise bands with handles. You can either wrap em around a beam or basement support, or hook over doors. You can simulate the drawing action with a good deal of resistance. They work really well. I use bands as a regular part of my workout regime, and they travel well too if you're away a lot.Different strength bands give a different level of resistance. Get a medium and a thick one. Very ease to use all the year round in order to avoid Bow season injuries.

It's funny how the US tax payer gets to fund a fence in Israel stopping Palestinians, but we don't get to fund our own wall to stop South American criminal gangs.
