  2. The bucks are just aren't showing themselves. Beautiful day though.
  3. Its good luck to have a silent hunter watch over you!!!
  4. Always had good luck with muzzys. Their are a ton out there go with a cut on contact. Woodsman, simmons. Both great heads
  5. I have seen sxs be very accurate. That will kill a bear or deer out to 50 yards no problem. I use to use the Winchester x slugs, never got pass throughs but the animal never went far either. Alot of weight and energy stopping in a short distance. That does some major damage.
  6. Hey I am always in for a road trip!! All kidding aside I hope you wrap your hands around that beast.

Thanks for your services. What part of NY do you live in?
  8. Yup, always loved that 6 inch drop/slide down the tree before it caught again. Definitely wakes you up.

  10. Saw 3 tonight. Feast or famin. I will take it. Makes it so much more interesting.
  11. Out sitting, needed a break from cutting up my doe. Tonight feels like a deer night. Let's hope a deer makes an appearance!
  12. Awsome buck, congrats to you and you hunting party. You guys put your time in. Dave, if you need anything I am just up the hill and don't be afraid to ask. I hope everything works out so you can get out and enjoy the rest of the season.
  13. I am hopeful that opening weekend/week was just in that time period that the bucks aren't leaving the does side. That usually tends to slow down the sightings I think. Once they get the deeds done they will hopefully be cruising the woods for more love.
  14. Specs. 30.06. Shooting 150grn. Hornaday super formance. Had a doe come in. Took a 50 yard shot. Doe was slightly quartering towards me. At the shot doe took off down a hill. I gave it 15 minute and went to look at the shot site. Leaves were kicked up and one spot of blood the size of a pencil eraser. Only thing I could follow was the tracks in the snow. I followed the the track for 30-40 yards and saw no blood on the snow so I circled back to make sure i was on the correct track. I was, so I then went back to where I left the track before and continued on. At 85 yards I saw a couple pin pricks of blood on the snow. At 100 yards I looked up to see the doe dead 30 yards ahead. The last 10 yards had a little more blood. I say more but you still had to get low and look for it. It looked like it was spray coming out of her nose. The shot was 6 inches back from the shoulder on entrance and the exit wound is in the picture. You can see the fat that plugged the hole. The shot took out the onside lung and took out half the liver. The lung was pretty much gone. You could see the running track didnt look correct in the snow was kinda all over the place. Not straight like you would think. Just for my own knowledge I went back when it was getting dark and tried a flashlight in the snow. I was able to pick up a few more spots of blood on the snow and some on the trees that I had missed. None were bigger than a flannel shirt button though. This was a track that you easily could have said I just grazed her she will be fine. It made me second guess my shot for sure.
  15. Just plan awsome! Great people and great job.
