    You and I are in the same boat, I have one 8 point that I shot in my early years. That was in the afternoon after everyone else got there deer. Since then though I always try to pick the right spot and it never happens. This will be our year though!

    As said before change it up, We get into a routine and don't want to deviate from it. The deer are always changing there patterns for food source and safety. I would do a scouting mission. Take a couple hours and walk around you will be surprised at how much an area can change from year to year. As little as 100 yards can put you back on deer.

    One small one early on. Actually saw two different grouse and heard a third. Hardly ever see that many. Did see a flying squirrel too.

    I have tried low to high. It seems in high pressure areas you get up high like 25 feet the deer dont spot you as easily. Only problem is your shot angles at that height. I like to keep it around 15 20 feet. Your best option is good cover. Sometimes that perfect tree In the perfect spot has no cover so height is the way to go.

    I guess it could be all the women he's chasing around. We know chasing the girls can be stressful!

    I was thinking he might have gotten hurt ( car accident, hunter etc.) The extra stress might have made him lose the antlers. Just a theory.

    Doebuck give her time. Thats your best bet. Rain came in I am out. See 2. One was small and trailing so I figure it was a momma and a fawn. Hopefully the rain stops so I can get out this afternoon.
