I'm still apprehensive, it could just be the angle of the sun/lighting. However, it looks to me like these two pictures could possibly be different deer. The deer on the right has what appears to be a faint double throat patch. While the deer on the left appears not to have one. As well as they seem to be slightly different color shades. Who know's? With out actually seeing it for myself, I take everything on the internet with a grain of salt.

Is that a bear in the one picture or just a round bale in the shadows? Hard to tell when my heads turned sidways lol.

No where close to being ready!! Then again, I never am so this is nothing new, lol. Shooting well out to 40 anything inside of that will be dead, or at least should be haha. Still have a couple stands to change and, I still don't know where I'm going to put my pop-up blind, clothes need to be washed, butchering area needs to be preped lots to do in a lil time. Taking monday off for the opener going to hunt as much as I can this year. Hopefully, I can fill either the freezer or the wall this monday. I got a big SOB running around hopefully I'll connect. Goodluck and straight shooting, CNY

I'm not sure how any of this fits into your guys theories but sunday I was goose hunting and witnessed two bucks chasing a doe. By chasing I mean they were full out sprinting after her. First was good sized 2.5 yo. right behind her by about 30-50 yards and then about 2-3 mins later a smaller buck came through birddogging her with his nose to the ground. Regardless of any of these theories I'm excited to get an extra two weeks in the woods. Good luck this year CNY

5 total One buck Four doe All in 7j on mutiple farms However I was one of the only ones with luck this year. I had one other buddy that shot 5 as well but, everyone else I hunt with got one or skunked. It was a very slow year, I normally cut up between 25-35 deer a year and I don't even think I broke 20 this year. For the record shot 5 last year too and I was out of venison by June so one is no where near enough for my family. Ever hear the saying 10 percent of the fisherman catch 90 percent of the fish. Well the same hold true for hunting as well. Sorry back to the survey....

Another monster from the Ithaca area?
CNYlungbuster replied to WNY Bowhunter's topic in Deer Hunting
I had the same picture forwarded to my phone claiming that it was shot in Tully, NY (south of Syracuse). It will be interesting to see how this unfolds. It has a NY tag on it so its only a matter of time before the truth comes out of where this buck came from. -

True or False (poaching a deer at night)
CNYlungbuster replied to ELMER J. FUDD's topic in Deer Hunting
I've never heard of this before. Like someone mentioned earlier an ECO can approximate the time of death (TOD) by the eyes. However, to deterime the actual TOD they use a tempeture scale based off ambient temp. and temp of the deer. The temp is usually taken in the hindquarter since this is the largest muscle mass and the liver (most commonly used in humans to determine TOD in homicides and such) is usually gone by the time an ECO gets to the scene. -
Which Broadhead for low poundage draw weight?
CNYlungbuster replied to wuggzwest's topic in Bow Hunting
I would give magnus buzz cuts a try.... I shoot rages but, if I had to shoot a cut on contact those are the ones I would shoot... only broadhead with a lifetime garuntee. Might be worth a try. Good Luck CNY -
Shooting them out of a compound isn't the issue its your rest. I have shot them out of compounds and out of recurves you need a fall away rest if your going to shoot them out of a compound tho. Check out arrow affliction when Chris Brackett was still the host, pretty sure theres an episode where he shoots doves and has to use the compound because the doves are ducking the arrows out of a slower bow. Oh ya and your arrows will go a lot farther with a compound then with a recurve or long bow (Duh I know... but common sense aint all that common). Its lots of fun my buddies and I bring out bows out on the lake ice fishing and throw foam targets up in the air. The blanket of snow makes finding our misses easy and its a great way to sharpen skills and kill time between flags.... CNY

Take a look at Hostage rest kinda like a trimmed down version of a WB had one on my bow for three years now and idk if I'll ever switch to a drop away...like you said just one more thing to go wrong. Good luck CNY

Just beating a dead horse but I would have to agree with the 2.5 yoa. The angle does make it hard to be 100 percent however. good luck seeing him or hopefully his big bro this year

Dont Recall Seeing So Much Waterfowl Flying
CNYlungbuster replied to RTF's topic in Waterfowl Hunting
I doubt it usually when theres a wet spring the nesting numbers are up. The opposite holds true for turkeys and vice versa. However, I havn't seen any of the numbers from the counts done annually on the potholes they are usually a good indicator of nesting success nationwide. -
Nope no pun is ever intended in any of my post lol..... Might I ask your reasoning for bringing him here?
-
Yup thats what we usually say here when someone says they shot a record setting buck, or saw a mt. lion wheres the proof lol. Now I'm saying this is the new conspiracy theroy or whatever just looking for some rock solid proof to ease the mind....Dumping at sea seems fishy as well?!? Just my .02 CNY P.S. glad he's dead
