If you live in WNY for awhile you take the weather predictions with a grain of salt & look out the window for the real-time weather. I hear ya there I think almost everything on the internet needs to be taken with a grain of salt. As long as the weather man doesn't make me start taking heaping spoonfuls I think we should be good. One of my best opening days was during some pretty nasty weather and I saw 20 deer....Hey Ya never know.... lol

I keep my release on my bow when in storage to try and keep them together but I do keep a spare in my bow case also spare broadheads too.

Just checked mine yesterday had videos of bucks and does together no big boys only small spikes and crotch horns but they were together in my foodplot which is only 1/4 acre. So they were in rather close together. Got two different two and a half year olds, but when they were there, there were no does to "BE SEEN" in the camera. Though some were there shortly before and shortly after both bucks. CNY

Blonde Phase Coyote? Feral Dog? Coy-Dog?
CNYlungbuster replied to dpsurf's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
The variation in color I believe is attributed to eastern wolf coyote crosses -
Ya that does look real nice I would like to do something similar with a Grey Fox once I get one lol How much would something like that run?

Ya me too... this will be the only time of year that you catch me doin laundry lol... I follow prety much the same rutine as WNY however I don't pre wash the washing maching probably should but dont lol. Then air dry out side ( in the garage or barn if the weather is crappy) then into walmart totes with fresh earth scent waifers, I love those things. After being in the tote for a week with the fresh earth you can't smell anyting but dirt and I love it. Good luck CNY

butt out tool
CNYlungbuster replied to twsted21's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
works great on bucks lil bit of a pain on does with the extra hole there, kinda throws a wrench in the mix. Used them a couple times though and they work good. I didn't waste my money but the ol'lady wasted some money for me on it so we will put it through its paces this year and see if it can stand the test of a whole season. -

Come on Doc you don't got some magic make you better before hunting season pills...lol

That is strange. As someone who has never pulled the trigger on a muzzleloader, I've got to say that I wouldn't have the slightest idea what to do and how much of it to do, and without any instruction at all I would likely blow my face off.....lol. I never realized that there is no course on muzzleloaders. There must be some part of the regular gun course that is devoted to muzzleloaders these days isn't there? Not that that would help anyone who already has their gun course. Doc I remeber when i turned 16 and bought my first license there was talk of a muzzle loading course being added to the current line up of courses. If you already had your stamp then you were grandfathered in, needless to say I bought it anyways for the extra tag for bow and in the off chance that there might be another course that I didn't want to take. Now I go mzling every year with my buddies and wouldn't miss it. However before I started going with them I had no idea how to work a smokepole they were the ones that taught me how to do everything. If I hadn't had them, I too would of probably blown myself up trying to figure it out.... (probably not I research things very thoroughly before I try them but you get my point). Here's my other question tho how are they gonna know who has taken the class and who hasn't? My license will still say super sportsman either way won't it?

If the woods seem dead, do you grunt or rattle?
CNYlungbuster replied to burmjohn's topic in General Hunting
Theres not much to it, find some sheds or if your gonna spend money buy a set or one of those bags. I perfer the real thing however those primos antlers have a pretty good sound to them, but thier like 25 dollars and I can't justify spending money on something I can find in the woods. Also a good grunt tube of your choice, I like the buck roar, sounds great and adjust to every sound. Bang them together with grunt during before and after, I also like to start with a snort wheeze kinda set the stage for the fight. Bucks will fight anywheres from 30 sec. to 20 mins so time isn't really a big deal, and if your on the ground rake them in the trees and through the leaves when bucks are really fighting thier not quiet about it. What you need to pay attention to is deer coming in if your still banging those horns together when he walks in he's gonna pick you off and you'll never see him again. The best way to learn is get out there and screw up lol worked for me. Good Luck CNY -
Thank you it only took about 4 years of hard waterfowl hunting with a year off last year just didn't have time to go out at all. However got a new pup and new burst of energy in hopes of one day watching her work.... shooting the band help boost it a lil bit too lol

Who is ready for the "Southern Zone" Oct 16th opener!?!
CNYlungbuster replied to burmjohn's topic in Bow Hunting
I can't believe I'm saying this I need more time lol I'm never fully ready always doing laundry and scrambling to get things ready the night before lol. I got two stands to move and one to hang but I don't think I'll be hunting out of any of those one so they will have plenty of rest time untill I hunt out of them. Luckily only one of those stands to be hung will have a lot of trimming to do all the rest will be minimal trimming. Idk about you guys but sometimes the trimming can take just as long if not longer than actually hanging the stand. I also will be amping up my shooting to 30 arrows everyday instead of 10-15 just to put the finishing touches on before the season. Then theres the barn to clean out to make room for all the deer that will be shot this year lol, but we won't even go down that road on how much needs to be done in there lol. So much to do not enough time...... ??? Good luck CNY -
Here's mine I'll try to find a picture of his actual resting place on my wall can't seem to find it for some reason?!?

How Stupid do they "Think" we Are - Deer Hunting Aids
CNYlungbuster replied to wztirem's topic in General Hunting
That is the one that really gave me a chuckle. The sound of crunching acorns is supposed to relax the deer. There has to be a way of getting on the receiving end of some of this stuff ..... lol. Doc Ya I would hafta say that this is my favorite as well lol. When I first saw the advertisement for this I about fell out of my chair I was laughing so hard. CNY -
Now theres a million dollar idea lol
-
If your cam has video option I would set it to that its your best chance at getting it on film. With up to 60 seconds of video (depending on your cam) theres a lot better chance of seeing that arrow hit him then one snap shot in time. CNY
-
Ya i saw those advertise wondered myself how good they were never used them tho. How did they look at the store? Did they seem like a quality item or just another gimmick in its first stages? CNY
-
Ah man you beat me too it I want to sound like I had ESP lol....doubt we'll see any aswell but would love to see them if they can be provided.
