    7 deer this evening,had to coyote howl to get out. No big fellas came out to play. Deer were really focused on the clover.

    Rains picking up, no thanks to that in a 14 foot stand with no harness. Might break out a camp chair+ tree umbrella and just glass plots from 400 yards away. Either way I'll be on the ground rest of the day.

    Doe cruised through, woods are really quiet. Rain stopped, but everything is in stealth mode. Just about time to switch it up me thinks.

    Coyotes are howling, 3 packs that I can hear. Also hear acorns dropping, and a doe stomping about 100 yards away.

    One thing having children has taught me: Keep a big old pack of wet wipes in the truck. Handy for blood too!

    Thats a pretty solid list. Trying to go easy on the snacks this year. I keep my release in the case with my bow or I'd forget it 75% of the time. I'll throw a pen in my pack right now, thanks for that!

    I see alot of empty acorn caps in the woods, thinking quick sit in the morning on travel route back from plot, then switching to hard woods for a mid day sit. Wind doesn't look good for the evening sit.

    Buzzed the chicory again today. It's done so good this year, whole plot is one big salad. Can you find the blind in the picture?! Deep deep shadows there in the evening. A little face black and a good wind on opening day please!

    Found my first rub of the year today. 2 within 10 feet of each other, both probably a week old. My next discovery was my dad knocking his pipe tobacco out of his pipe right next them. SOB......

    Not bad, 2x 30 seconds of draw before aiming shots, in the wind at 30 yards. Makes me feel good about opening day.

    Yup . Fixed blades, started last year. Blew threw the scapula and poked out the other side on a 2 year old from about 22 yards.

    Didn't get in to the alcove again, typical luck. Probably just as well, this year is pretty nutty. This off season I'm definitely going to shop around and get a mobile setup together.

    AKA the "Let's go Buffa-Lo!" + Biz thread. What really gives me the chicken skin this year is that defense. So many improvements. Hope Dane Jackson is okay, too many injuries last night.
