How to avoid buying counterfeit Cuban cigars.

What if they smell like Monica Lewinsky ? Real or fake ? -
I have to laugh. My daughter has now bought me 2 of those camo ball caps with the lights under the brim. 2 because I do fly downs with them and boom, wires and batteries everywhere. Actually forgot again in the moment the other day and again, boom. managed to round up all the batteries, battery cover and a little twisting of some wires and it's working again.

Nice bird. Congrats !!

fun ain't it. When you get so excited you lose control of pressure in your fingers on the striker. Like you've never called before. I thought I heard a grouse drumming when the woods erupted with gobbles the other morning. Nope , that was my heart thumping. There's some great advice on this subject so far. Good responses people
-
dont give up hope. We've only had birds rip 2 of 5 days with zero pressure besides us. Some days they talk some days they don't as you know. Watch them silent strutters The best part of the season , the tail end is the best IMO anyhow.

That's even stretching those Winchester longbeard XR's from Maine to New York anyhow

at 50 yards with the light tree canopy they may have seen you. I don't call too much while they're still roosted. I'll do a flydown call and await them to hit the deck and call at em. Obviously I'll throw a little lovin their way to peak their interest while roosted such as a cluck or two (like you did) Betting they in fact saw you setting up the dekes or settling down at your tree. Call softer than you think you should and more infrequently than you think. Sounds like you may be hooked on turkey hunting now. Good on you

it feels so much better jumping on trampolines

I have one location to hunt. 70 acres and hour drive each way. So we sit in one spot and wait it out. 2nd day out we had 2 birds strutting out too far and hung up. Today being the 5th day we had 4-6 birds gobbling hard and hung up again , a little bit later 2 jakes and a hen came in silent. 1st, 3rd and 4th day we never heard a gobble. Obviously birds are there and didn't talk those days. They don't talk everyday. Not that 70 acres is much but I've tried moving on a gobbling bird in different part of these 70 acres and got busted both times by silent birds I didn't know were there. As of the last many years I also have not encountered another hunter calling on neighboring property or tresspassing. I'd rather not hear a bird gobble than encounter that I've seen a few guys post saying some dumb arse messed up their hunt. That's gotta suck. Glad to have free reign of hillside we hunt. Everyone hunts differently , wether it be run n gun , sit all day. There is no wrong style

bought one for daughter. I've used it. Awesome Saves my back and keeps you off the ground

there are no words to describe that

Heard a few distant gobbles lately
-
So we hear something directly behind our blind. On high alert and here comes a pink happy birthday Mylar balloon bouncing off the side of our blind just outside the window. Lol. We're out in the middle of the boonies. Too funny
-
immediately after I did fly down the woods erupted in our area. Guessing 4,5 , maybe 6 birds hammering. Daughter had gun up for a long time. She was shaking ???? Once again they narrowed the gap but didn't fully committ. Been quiet for awhile now.
-
2 jakes and hen just skirted field from other direction. Seem disinterested
-
For last hour we've had 4-6 birds gobbling their heads off. As close as 100 yards but out of sight. Couldn't draw them in. Now they're 250 yards away. Ugh
-
A lot of distant gobbles coming from all directions
-
We're heading in. Lots of critters on way here. Deer , fox , big coyote , grinner and a stinker . Ducks and peepers are making a racket in the swamp. Enjoy the day everyone. Dang , I can here forever with 0 wind.

better late than never. Venison tacos

that reminds me. About 20 years ago my brother box trapped a opossum that was getting into his shed. A guy at his work was notorious for being a jack arse and his vehicle an absolute mess. Burger king and Mickey D wrappers and bags all over the bag seat 2 feet deep. Guess where that grinner went ?! Brother got wind of the guy talking about it 3 days later.
