  1. nice. Be hunkered down at 5:30 at the latest. Good luck. Keep us posted
  2. may have to disagree with 10 being the best time. You miss the woods waking up and betting most birds were killed on this forum before 8. Just my opinion.
  3. Picking up stakes. All quiet was the morning. I'll go work on mamas honey do list.
  4. Not a peep yet. Fog rolling into set up now
  5. Incredible pics. Have you thought about sending them to DSD ? Hoping to watch my DSD Jake get beat up someday.
  6. Just ready to head in 9H. 36 degrees.Barely a wind , can't hear windmills . Major fog that I hope dissipates early. Saw 2 fox and a few deer on way in. Miss my hunting buddy( daughter ). Asked her permission if I could go without her today. We'll be back Saturday though. Good luck to all going out today.
  7. I would say to get all 3 to sit perfectly still and not get seen would be a feat in itself. 2 would be ideal. I've hunted with my nephew and we both called and my brother and both called. I killed a bird both times. Nephew was supposed to shoot but his sling bumped the stick blind and bird got spooky so I let her rip.
  8. Not sure where to go but call softly and infrequently is probably my best advice. Keep very.very still at all times. perhaps a stick blind in front of you to hide hand movements of calling and moving gun. Them birds can hear and see better than you can imagine. Try a slate call, pretty easy to use. Yelps, purrs, clucks can all be done on a slate. I've heard worse sounding hens than my own calling. Cadence, what to say and how loud and you should be good.
  9. Well done !! Love the dew tracks. 1187 SPT ?
  10. Quite a few birds killed yesterday on this forum despite the rain. They may be a little more subdued in their gobbles. Like someone else mentioned , they still need to eat , mate etc. Open fields are good because they are now relying on more eyesight than hearing. They'll go into fields and pick worms as well. Robins had a field day yesterday but yet no turkeys in our field. Not liking the cold and rain so far for nesting purposes and poults.
  11. chompipes of Costa Rica. Get out there ????
  12. Well done. Congrats to you and your buddy on 2 nice looking birds.
