  1. The Deli Shoppe on Broadway in Depew. Although my barber just told me about Sloan yesterday. Deli Shoppe won best Polish sausage at Broadway Market this last year. They also have filet mignon for $10 / pound and some of the biggest Alaskan king crab legs I've ever seen.
  2. 2 four ounce lobster tails , 2 eight ounce strip steaks , 2 twice baked potatoes , 10 shrimp and cocktail sauce , two pieces of cheesecake = $25. Was dang yummy too !
  3. While shooting my daughters youth 20 gauge I forgot about crescent mooning myself with scope. Turkey load had some good recoil. Here I was stuffing light field loads in it for her to shoot. I was afraid of she knew how I started bleeding she'd be afraid to shoot it. I gently lied that a pricker bush must of gotten me on the way in. As they did get our arms and legs behind friends house. I pulled my hat down to try and hide the cut but the blood dripping off my nose gave it away. The first shot she took she said " oh crap " I thought she did the same thing or the recoil hurt. Nope, she was referring to she hammered the target and was pleased. Used to shoot at Niagara gun range . I was amazed at the dents, holes and apparent errant shots in the target rails overhead and places who should not see a bullet hole(s) Always a little nervous shooting there. Seems like everytime I've shot there a group of kids would come in and rent the AK. Now that made me nervous as they were not gun savvy. And that thing is loud !
  4. Agreed, Avian and DSD put out a very realistic deke
  5. His largest ever. Think he's up to 8 or 9 for the year.
  6. Too much grizzle I heard. he just sent a pic of another one caught this morning. Looking forward to another round of eating beaver.
  7. Two Goats brewery on Seneca Lake serves Beef on weck , side of potato chips and a pickle spear That's the only thing they serve except for a few great beers and wonderful view of the lake. We stop every year on our way home from Ithaca.
  8. Last night a buddy brought over beaver backstraps. Cut into bite sized pieces ,little dry rub and wrapped in small piece of bacon. Incredible ! And this was from a 65 pounder he trapped. ......insert jokes here......
  9. The days of shooting a brick of .22 long gone. My New Years resolution is only to shoot more. Really want my daughter to get acclimated with her 40th anniversary Ruger 10/22 and youth 870 20 gauge before youth turkey hunt. Buddy has set up range at his house. 25-50-75-100 yards Has rests at each station. Just bought daughter shooting glasses Bring on the new year and some lead down range.
  10. My euchre playing beer tonight. Venison bites , dash of dry rub , dab of cream cheese and wrapped in bacon about to come off smoker. Have to walk a whole 5 houses away. 4 of my best friends and families for New Years. Should be fun
  11. Birthday was 29th. Girls got me the DSD Jake to go with my upright hen. Stoked !
  12. Happy birthday , happy new year and good luck hunting. My birthday was 29th so you also get jipped lol I've always wanted to change my birthday date but recently found out it's not possible ????
  13. Venison taco night. Only ate 4. I'm losing my touch
  14. I've been using a Master Forge from Lowes for years now. It's dark green and sort of pill capsule shaped. It's charcoal. Got it for Fathers Days awhile back. Same exact thing in a Weber is $300 .This was $50. I use it all year long, leave it in the driveway and shovel around it. I use it a lot. I have no problems using wood. One full chimney gets me 200-225 degrees. I'll toss a handful of more coals midway thru smoking when I toss another handful of wood chips. Venison, pork tenderloins, wings, beer can chicken, wild turkey breasts wrapped in bacon, sausage, almonds, salmon. You name it and I've smoked it. Not sure how other smokers work but I love this plane Jane one from Lowes. I've gotten to point now where I no longer need to stay home and guess if it needs wood chips or more coals etc. You get a feel to when things are done. It's almost impossible to oversmoke foods too. Dang underscore !! At least I didn't post a sideways pic
  15. Always check the bottling date on IPA's. If it's more than 2 months or so old I'd pass on it. The hops fall off pretty quick. Some companies have wonky coded dating thus making it hard to confirm bottling date. I bought a 6 pack of Ithaca Flower Power from the gas station on my way hope from a dark to dark. Couldn't establish dating only to find out the hops had fallen off considerably. This beer is usually kick you in the teeth hoppy. Not this time, more like an lager
  16. Zombie Dust is an outstanding beer. Buddy makes a run to pick some up for us a couple times a year. Space Station:Middle Finger/ Alpha King/ Apocalypse Cow/ Gumballhead/ are a few others I've had from 3F but Zombie Dust by far the best. Blech on Fat Tire IMO
  17. my 10/22 with 3x scope and whatever ammo I dug up out of my pocket at the time also has killed many a squirrel. Some solid points , some hollow points . Never knew what round was coming out of that mag next. Always knew when a Stinger went off with that extra crack to it. Always took head shots and lost very few and having troubles thinking of any I did lose.
  18. I haven't shot one purposefully hunting them in years nor have I been out in a while. Meaning to change that this winter. Here's a big male buddy trapped this morning. Like the raised hackles and snarling teeth.
  19. Pretty good shooting on the first 5. Meh on the 6th. Lots of great videos on YouTube. And NO this is not me lol. Pretty good getting scopes on them that fast and don't look like chip shots. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=M4P6_Gszhm4
