How'd you prepare them ? Love searing them in a touch of butter , dash of dry rub in cast iron skillet and then throwing skillet in the oven at 450 for a couple of minutes.

Camo umbrella overhead helps. I have a Bushnell 3200 Elite that has rainguard that was fine yesterday. Other scoped guns I have I tuck under my muff for my hands. Keeps the scope dry and clear and I'm not going to drop it as I'm indirectly holding onto it. What about those flip up scope covers.?Have them on a .22 and they flip up very quick and easy.

where I hunt I've seen a couple of beast greys. There's also occasional fox squirrel and last year a black but haven't seen him this year. Can fox and grey squirrels breed to produce the big greys I see ? Lousy food around with zero nut trees. Not sure what they're eating. I abstain from shooting them as very few around.

I use Trojan Magnums over bore of ML barrel. I have no use for them otherwise Actually put piece of electrical tape over bore yesterday and today. Going to wipe down gun with oil now and pull breech plug to unload. Feed it into safe and await next year.

Could be stress , could be fighting. I shot a "doe" 3 years ago during ml season. Nice fresh snow falling, snow on its head. I flipped it over and yelled " this doe has ballz ". Apparently shed both early. They eat the same with one or two. Or none in my case

It's a wrap. Hunted dusk til 11 Had to be out there for final day. It pizzed out all morning Trying to get a deer for buddy who routinely shoots 4-5 deer a year. He's only seen 4 tails all year. He utilizes the whole deer , hide , sinew , meat etc . Freezer is full with 3 so were content. Bring on May 1st with some coyote hunting between now and then.
