  8. On a side note : has anyone ever smacked them themselves maneuvering the cables out of the housing You know how you stick them in the housing as far as you can for transport. Couple years ago it was ball shrinking cold out , it's dark , face frozen and "thwack ", right in the mouth I caught it as I pulled them out. Joyous moment and deer heard a few f bombs lol
  9. Here ya go. Friend who traps had these in his trapping man cave shed. Beaver , bear , coon , fox , weasel and mink Coon peters , eye socket of elk ( or similarly located to eye ) and elephant tusks are a few sources of ivory.
  10. You can buy the replace shrink coating direct from Summit for $17.99. Cables are $39.99 I was looking at the site a few weeks ago. My cables have some wear and thought about it. Maybe over the summer I'll tackle it.
  11. Daughter was with me when I tipped over a nice bird on Mothers Day. This year she can youth hunt. Nice bucket mouth from farm pond. Nice smalle from Grasse River in Massena. Opening day of gun season. We passed on a decent 7 point. Teaching her you don't need to shoot everything you see. He was shootable but at 8:10 opening morning we passed him up Nothing better than my little ballerina ( 12 classes a week ) doing the outdoorsy things she loves too. I'm still light headed from the blood rushing to my head deer hunting ????
  12. Thinking a good broad head does more carnal damage than a .223
  13. So daughter can take PA online course and then it'll carry over and can get her a NY license ?
  14. I would think Clorax would emit a strong odor even in the smallest amount
  15. My buddy is good member of Hawkeye. Primitive bow hunts. Homemade bow, homemade arrows , deer sinew , flint tips , turkey feather fletchings ( thanks to me lol ) They have fire starting competition, camp outs , bow competitions etc. Frank's indeed has some of the best roast beef I've had. You done well. Have known the owner there for a long time.
  16. Just a thought but who'd be interested in getting together for a bite to eat some night , grab a beer, put a voice to a name. Western NY area. Griffon Gastropub in Williamsville has some great food and a 100 craft beers on tap. Duffs ? Could be fun. Bring some venison jerky to pass around the table, share hunting stories etc. Looks like we have quite a few members in the area so just throwing this out there. We all share the same passion , the outdoors so lots to talk about with not much going on with us in the woods.
  17. it's a quarter mile from my house ! Very good roast beef. Garlic parm wings are incredible. Bar Bill in East Aurora has great roast beef and wings also.
  18. Beeradvocate is a good forum to look at styles and ratings of different beer.
  19. Some people are into wine. I prefer good beer. Nearing 2500 different beers tried. Got into trading with out of staters for stuff we can't get here and vice versa. Only usually a couple at a time. I could stand to lose about 10-12 beer pounds lol. Guinness and Stella Artois are two of my least favorites. Some great local breweries putting some good beer out. Good to see.
  20. Cellar pull. 18% abv. 2008. They only brew this every 7 years. Its available this year in 12 ounce bottles
  21. . I have and it's the best of the hard root beers out there. Spot on to A & W I thought got. Coney Island has one too but too medicine like. I did make a float and it was good. For awhile places had a waiting list for NYFRB. Buddy sold 14 cases in 3.5 hours when it was hot. Now you can find it everywhere. They make a 10% and 19% version too Only available at brewery though.
