  1. Found this critter below a tree in our yard. Can only guess it died of old age or fell from tree top. No way I'll ever know I guess. I did see one fall from a tree about 30' from ground at folks house on Christmas. It flailed thru the air , hit the ground and quickly ran off all embarrassed
  2. I think the number of deer being poached with air bow would be very minute. Not enough to get your panties all up in a bunch over.
  3. dang ! Love me hay sets. 5 reds a few years ago from same one. On the ice of a frozen creek they are quite the attractor Hope you nab that song dog
  4. And blue loctite keeps things solid
  5. Cabela's doesn't have a gunsmith , Harlem GC are cocky Does Corfu gun shop have a gunsmith ? Buddy had some work done at Gunboat Outfitters in Clarence Center and was very pleased with work. It's on Salt Road. 741-3187. Douglas Payne is owner / gunsmith
  6. Nice set up. My brother also got screwed in the antlerless only ( Corfu ) and had bought his ml for ml season to shoot another buck. Do we know if that's the way it's going to remain ?
  7. I have no idea. All I know is processor doing it for 30 years largest doe he's seen and weighed was 143 pounds. So if you truly think you shot a #160 then kudos to you. I know after my mile drag thru brambles , blow downs , beaver swamp and creek they feel like 225 by the time they're at the car lol.
  8. dang. He'll be even tougher now. I just put bird barrel on Winchester 1300. Going to Cabela's now for new caller. A few boxes of #4 buck. Guess I'm not setting any steel this year but hunting them instead.
  9. then take the Utah non resident. Gets you 31 other states in reciprocity. Was 32 but just lost PA as one
  10. . Nope , didn't find it funny. Your claim of shooting a 160 pound doe in NYS. Now that's sorta comical IMO
  11. I saw quite a few urban deer at 11 the next morning after this snow Panic mode on their part I think
  12. and you won on biggest DB comment. So what if there's not proper punctuation, you an Internet cop ? I understood it just fine
  13. All I know is Daryl from The Walking Dead needs to upgrade to one of these !
  14. So what's your point? That the 168 pound doe you said was shot in Indiana .Other states produce larger deer sometimes and sometimes smaller species of other things. . Southern states have smaller eastern coyotes, Missouri has 30 pound Eastern turkeys etc.
  15. And 200 + pound and bigger bucks are routinely shot in other states. Just checked my drivers license , it says New York.
  16. Assuming but I could be wrong : If there's no hunting season where you're at there"s no trapping season either
  17. Just saw that in newspaper yesterday. Looks interesting. They're trying to get it passed into crossbow and perhaps regular bow season in NY. And you'd definately " shoot your eye out kid "
  18. Great job Stone !! It's quality of sets and location as you know. I had a feeling they'd run hard last night with temps dropping. Was it a double ?
  19. feeders not great at the end of the season for field hunting a lot of times as they get lost in the grown grasses. Tis why I opted for upright hen. And even then I have to trample down high grasses . My set up is exactly the same every time. For years. Sit under the same tree, decoy in the same spot. Decoy on fields edge, there's a pinch path between two fields nearby, I sit in hardwoods about 30 yards. Only once did bird approach from behind me and not field. These birds are coming from 300-400 yards from other hard woods across fields. The adult birds I tip over aren't around to tell their friends . Only one hang up so far, had dang hen between decoy and ole Tom. Obviously my decoy didn't move but the real hen did. I killed that bird a week later with same set up. So looking forward to having my new DSD jake get lumped up this year. It's going to be tough not to laugh. Going to wait as long as possible to pull the trigger as to see the whole show. The show is what it's all about anyhow. The bird going home with me a bonus.
  20. 160 pound field dressed doe ? Hmm , processor I took my deer to has been butchering deer for 30 years. Largest doe ever : 143. 2nd largest doe 127 pounds. You sir shot a Holstein
