10/18 am 58 Out back again for 2 hours. Nice morn, cooler mist off and on. Did not even see a bird or squirrel! Not counting but 2 deer in 24 hours on stand is not a good start! Good thing cold front coming tomorrow afternoon . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

1986 button at 85 yards with a savage 12 gauge outside of Tully. Man I do not miss that shotgun! First with a bow was in 1991 a 5 point I stalked in the snow outside of Syracuse.

Well it is way to warm to be hunting! I will try to get lawn mowed today. It is 80 out my o my. My nephew did get out but unfortunately he missed a doe out back Sunday. He hunted hard all weekend and had a good time. My brother accidently dry fired his beloved Bowtech and it went kaplooey. It may be beyond repair. I saw a bunch of "tame" deer up in Old Forge, I had a nice 6 pointer 4 feet from me wanting food. Not hard to tell people are breaking the law and feeding them when you open the slider and they come running! Also pulled a tick outa my leg yesterday so make sure you are checking yourselves out there. I will see what temps are doing and maybe do a sit in the morning. Weather looks warm through Friday.

I would not say 200# deer are more rare than good mature bucks. I see a few every year over 200 on the hoof. My biggest weighed on DEC scales dressed out 186 so live weight close to 230. Was shot in a Syracuse suburb with bow and was 5.5 years old. I have one on cam last year that is just a pig I would guess 250 live. I hope to get a chance to weigh him this year.

10/9 pm 63 Another 1.5 hours in the far stand it was a bit windy but cooled off into the 50s. Nothing sighted but I did kick one on my way out at dark. I am not off to a good start!! 2 deer sighted in about 20 hours on stand! Just awful. I am up to the Dacks for a friend and family getaway so not back out until Tuesday. Things hopefully are more productive then!! My nephew will be out for the youth hunt I hope he gets one on my property, that would be cool.

10/9 am 47 2 hours in the far stand out back. Man you could see 100 yards fine with the huge harvest moon!! Absolutely nothing moving.

10/8 pm 67 Just got out on the field edge stand close to the house for an hour. Had to run shuttle picking up kids from practice. Nothing going on. A little bit of fall plot is coming up though in the brush hogged area I just threw some seed out in.
