    Flipping cold!! 22 degrees a light light snow on the ground. Loud as all heck walking. Still had to stop halfway in as I heard a deer walking . A lone deer, had to be a cruising buck, walked by 30 feet from me. So dark I could just see the outline. After he passed I started slowly and he started coming back my way lol. Finally got to my stand at 6:15. Ain’t nothing sneaking up on you today lol! Hope some legal movement goes on cause it’s cold!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    11/17 am 32 Got out in the new ladder stand out back for 2 hours. The snow was supposed to start and possibly accumilate a couple inches. It snowed a bit. Nothing stuck. My deer sightings the past few days has been terrible. It was real active 10/31 to 11/8. Now it has cooled off here. Nothing sighted this morn.

    11/15 am Hunted the tower blind for 2 hours saw one small deer that I think was the button. 11/15 pm Just snuck out the last 1 hour on the field edge. Zero.

    11/14 am Hunted 3 hours in the far stand past the Hole. Had zero sightings. 11/14 pm Hit Howland Island in my set between the cut cornfields for 2.5 hours. Nothing sighted.

    I am not even sure where I am hunting yet so not sure what gun. I know the boy will have my TC Triumph Muzzleloader in his little paws. Kid loves that gun if he is hunting its all he uses in gun seasons. No rifle no shotgun. If I had to guess either my Ithaca Deerslayer 20 Gauge or my Marlin 30-30 lever.

    Ima sit a bit longer and with chance of 70 mph gusts later I may actually take the afternoon off. Have some beers and watch football. I may sleep in tomorrow as well and hope that 70 % chance of snow Tuesday is truth! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    I have never done it. Never had an issue. Always just seemed like your fouling the barrel for no reason. I got no moisture in a fresh gun. Once loaded I electric tape the barrel and may go a week before I may pull the load and reload. I’m beginning to think that’s a waste too as I save the pulled pellets for practice and every one over the years has fired fine lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Up and in. 39 light breeze. I’m on doe patrol on a property that I’m wondering if all the survey action has stopped any day movement or blown them all out entirely.     11/13 am 32 Up in the new ladder stand. Had a good sized doe out of range go up ridge out front. Had a basket rack go behind me and down walked right by the tower. Wish he’d done that yesterday when I had my daughter there. Then had a tiny spike chase a nice doe and fawn behind me outa range. Sat for 4 hours. Pm 49 Same stand for last 3 hours.     Had a fisher go through behind me earlier. Had a doe way too far out up ridge 100 yards. Then had a fair buck work around behind and past my left. Watched him in the binos walk right past the tower I was with my daughter yesterday morn dang. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    11/12 am 45 Had the daughter out in the tower. Sat for two hours and zippola. She took a long nap, the heater is working great lol. We did bounce one on the way in. Off tomorrow. Gotta find me a fat doe.

    Sounds like a good time!! I used to hunt up near Paul Smiths since I was 12 years old every opening weekend until I was into my college age at Potsdam. I shot one buck in all those times lol. A spike. I was not a great hunter back then, not that I am now, but yea the herd was real thin for sure. It would be a great weekend to see 1 deer! I keep telling myself I need to get off my tree stand sitting azz and get back up there. If just for the memories.
