30 inches is a lot of snow to hike through but if you know the area well you may already know where the deer should be and if they can be gotten to. Also Sat temps going up high 30s here so if your south more 40s that will compact the snow a lot.

Well it snowed lightly the whole sit this morn. Not a deer harmed in this episode! Heard one shot way way off.

Learned on a standard when I was about 10 yo. Don't think I even saw an automatic till 4-5 years later. Neither of my kids 18 and 20 can drive one. We have never had anything but automatics since they have been born.

I was a historical 9 layer guy lol. I have a hand me down Sitka outfit and I bought a First Light outfit. Both cold weather gear. I always wear a thin compression base layer it just works for me with comfort and keeps ticks out. Now I just put a med weight wool thermal and that is it. I always carry my coat in on my pack and the FL gear my bibs have zippers the whole way up the sides I open up on way in. When I get to stand zip up, throw on coat. Put my neck gator and 2 beanies on and I am toasty as a bug in a rug. The gear is worth it. I will never go back...

I got a TC Triumph that's dead nuts at 175 yards if you want to try it. With all the deer I am seeing I don't need it lol!!

I've got a couple older ones as well and worked excellent for years. Especially on an under 200 yard gun in a state you can't shoot until a half hour after light and a half hour prior to dark!

I'd be shooting one in under a minute then lol!!

So built this in summer 2012 from pallet racking from work. 2016 I enclosed it with plywood. 2019 it got windows, piped in gas from a 20 lb cylinder below and AstroTurf inside and some new shelves. While I am very happy with this blind, on my next I would lean towards the design shape of that Amish one NYtracker picked up. I also would put in or design better windows that slide open. Mine are a hodgepodge of sorts. It is a blessing in crap weather lol.

My Gramps after he retired for a few years worked during hunting season as a line patrol along I think it was Rockefeller property up near Paul Smiths. One side was state the other the private estate. One morning while hiking the line he came upon and old guy on watch sitting on a stump dead as a door nail. I think it ended up just heart failure/old age. Prolly saw a monster buck lol!! From then on we always called it Dead Mans Watch. This would have been jeeze 40 plus years ago. I took the sleep in route this morn. I will get out a few mornings this week. I am really hoping we get a few inches of snow with that possible storm mid week. I've been hunting with the ML for a couple weeks now. Took that doe a couple of weeks ago with the Triumph. Would like to get one with the CVA.

I slept in till 7 and hit some state I wanted to explore. Ended up doing a 4 hour slow stop and go walk. Saw 6 hunters two deer tails and a spot I need to work out for next bow season. Quick snack and now up in the far stand out back to send off the reg season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yea there were 3 of us there till noon. It gets hit hard. Saw a big group driving the section by the entrance road to the inner lot on my way out. There’s rubs and scrapes a plenty. The deer there are scared shitless right now and got to be kicked up to move. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
