So do you guys bring in frozen packs of venison? And I imagine there is no way they make separate batches so you get mixed with others right? I have sampled some of there stuff at the outdoors show and it was really good. Blueberry Maple Breakfast Sausage intrigues me. Maybe some of us CNY guys can throw together and make a run!!

I can't remember not hunting on Thanksgiving Day! We will be out for the first half of the day then meet up with the family for food and football. Sometimes we go out for last watch but every once in a while I eat so much the treestand may break so the couch seems safer!! Then in the evening we head over to the other side of the family and eat more deserts and hang out. I used to have to make both dinners, holy crap that was dangerous to my belt!! My only issue with the holidays, Turkey Day, XMas and New Years should all be on Friday every year. With family all over now mid week Holidays are an ass pain!

Buckmaster thanks for sharing a bit of your knowledge!! I have always been interested in tracking in the big woods. I actually spent opening weekend of rifle every year from age 16 for probably 15 or more years up around Paul Smiths. But mostly sat watch, still hunted and did drives. I don't worry about the hiking or the shooting and I have a good eye for picking out pieces of deer. I think what holds me back is my confidence in finding my sorry ass out of the woods lol after following a track all willy nilly for miles. Keep sharing, I love the topic!

Ok I have watched this extensively and I don't think you even grazed her chest. I think you shaved her far leg below her chest. Blow it up or film the video and watch it in slow mo. She was already not running on her front right leg, bad day for her but she suffered no life ending injury from your shot.

My Ithaca Deerslayer 2 in 20 gauge is down the creek bed in the tower with one of my newbies. I should just call it the harvester! That gun shoots great out to 120. Light, fast and what it hits it kills. Mine loves Lightfields. It’s killed a pile of deer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sat till 9:30 this morn not a thing moving. Took a little walk and jumped one. Moved a double ladder stand to a new spot. Got showers, Fed, fresh clothes and back up at 2:30 out back. I’m ready to shoot something. Had a jam in the 30-30 unloaded after first watch. Have the gun half torn apart. Still haven’t figured it out. May be outa commission for the rest season. Good read and I started the same way up in the Dacks and in big state land in 7M. Sit in the am and pm for at most 2 hours. Do drives or sneak and peak during the days. I lost weight back in those days during hunting season. Now I have lost so many hunting spots the few local I have we do not want to hog up and the close public gets slammed. We still get a few days out using the boots more but not like 30+ years ago.

I got my son the Diamond Edge it has lots of room to grow with him.
