  1. I know this isn't a choice but I prefer to walk and stalk and sit in various places for a short time. cover more ground and I think I tend to see more deer that way
  2. Weekends usually all day in before light out at dark with a meet for lunch somewhere in woods with dad and uncle and shoot shit for a bit...weekdays if I get out a hour or 2 I'm doing good...ADKS trips there all week and hunt as much as my body can take.
  3. I don't know of any lifetime guys to have received them yet
  4. The fusions in my 270 shoot great can keep in a 6 in circle all day at 200....and it's a savage axis syn stock..your budget rifle and I trust it to shoot that way every time. Core loks are pretty good shooters also but for almost same cost I choose the fusions.
  5. When I use my 270 it prefers the fusion ammo....it's a savage
  6. Ours in souther tier are yellow as well
  7. The guy at the shop said today was the "soft start" and they hoped to have all bugs out by the 13th
  8. Probably be some happy guys out there....
  9. I went computer crashed couldn't get dmps. ...have try for them again tomorrow...
  10. I'm going to try and get mine here shortly I'll post the results....i called ahead and they said they arnt having a issue...local gun shop...
  11. I have been hunting my entire life. My father was a self taught hunter and passed the hunting trapping and fishing down to me some 22 years ago. I was Givin my first bb gun at 3 as he worked for the manufacturing company who builds them. Started teaching me gun safety and cleaning at 6 he moved me to a 22 and up from there. Been pushing deer with him sence I was 8 running them for him and my uncle and still do to this day. Now I have a 4 yr old son who I am passing the knowledge I have down to him and learn new stuff from all you guys on here daily as well as other guys I hunt with. It's a tradition and lifestyle I grew up with and can't wait to hunt with my boy in a few years...
  12. My shotgun is a 12 ga rifle barrel I've had it 10 plus years. My other one is just a single shot 12 that doesn't see much use except turkey season so I just make sure still patterns nicely and call it enough. 22 and pistols are exception in my safe.
  13. Sure put that cam in right spot
  14. I don't know if it means more or not but I have definitely had more fawns closer to houses in my neck of woods.
  15. Idk that any of my hunting rifles or shotguns for that matter have 200 rounds thru it at all. If your putting good groups on paper at the range you want that should be all that's needed.
  16. Lucky fishing season doesn't overlap much....think the symptoms are the same...hard to do both
  17. Aug 4 sales of licences. ..and xbow regs I'm not sure yet either. I know it's last 2 weeks of archery season...
  18. Wolly don't u worry about it spreading to your land?
  19. I've seen pics but as far as ik never been any locally....
  20. Where abouts are all you guys....i watch for it constantly as I live right on edge of creek and fields and have kids and dogs

Ik last year with some snow on the ground I was hunting out toward Naples and walked in on a fresh bear track straight outta truck....never saw it but it's the second time in same place I've seen bear sign...first one was scat maybe few days old or so
  22. Rock city park and thunder rocks are also very cool places....
  23. Sorry to see that didn't get much here in the southern tier. ...but that is a great time lapse pic
  24. That's a very good deal....i may order some myself...perfect fox coon trap....on the bottom side of those traps there is a hole in the bar it's like a 1/4 Inch hole I always move the chain to that hole with a swivel. Just something I learned from my dad It helps the trap swivel better to prevent losses....if you can try to get to s ok me of the seminars at the trapping show they are worth the time and always answer any questions
