  1. I made it out once this season and passed on a small doe
  2. Out in 4a and passed on a small doe in the am, afternoon was so quiet in the woods I could've heard a deer walking half a mile away if there were any deer lol
  3. Going out for first time this season in 4a, hopefully something good comes around.
  4. Tell that to the parents of darsh patel. Young kid that was killed by a black bear a couple towns away from me. I agree it's rare but it does happen
  5. And if you get bow and muzzleloader you get one buck/doe tag and one doe tag
  6. Look up the bag limits, it says for bow/muzzleloader it's either buck or doe unless it's a WMU that's for buck only
  7. And they won't let us hunt them any earlier. Bear season only open first week of December in nj and most bears hibernating then
  8. Is there any water by you. Just wondering if it could be something dropped by a bird. Looks like teeth are in two parts
  9. A lot of the places I saw say you can leave a trailer for 6 months unless you build a canopy over it. It's basically so people don't leave a trailer for a long time and looks run down. I have same thing but I'm there every couple weeks to clean up but you can't see from the road anyways
  10. Update, the bill for power ran is $1400. I found someone to install the pole which new is $1200 but he said he has some used ones he's taking out somewhere so he can give me a better deal, so I'm thinking between $800-$1000 for that. So it's not to bad and think I can recoup that if I sell. As far as I know there's no monthly fees besides the bill
  11. Yeah but what happened that there are no bears in central ny. They had to be there at one point. It's hard to believe they were all hunted out. If they set a kill limit of say 400 tags a year over time they will be all over the state. In nj they don't open the hunt till December so most of bears are hibernating then. Some people complain about that but at same time it leaves bears for the future, we average about 250 bears killed each year.
  12. It's funny reading this because in north jersey where I live we have so many bears there's at least one or two calls a day for bears in someone's yard. Maybe ny should set a limit on amount of bears taken to let the population grow a little more
  13. Take a measurement of the big tree and of the small tree he's next to,that will help.
  14. Doesn't look to big, prob around 200lbs. If you wanna see bears come to north jersey, pretty much see bears at least once a week
  15. It's nj, unless he's hunting he's not allowed to protect himself
  16. Nah your ok,I never looked at my bill that way so will have to look at it more. I only plan to keep the land for a couple years then want to get something closer with a house on it so I don't have to build something and do a well and septic. I figure I should be able to recoup the cost in the sale of the land. Next time I talk to someone I will ask about the monthly fee. I know here in nj it's only what you use, there's no fee so if you don't use power you have no bill
  17. Just a little update, had national grid come by today, they will have to add a transformer and with the service across the road the two combined would be in the $1200 range. Got a price for pole and installation for $1000. So I'm figuring total will be in the $2500 range and no fees after that. Only thing she said is if I install a septic and well then they would return my money for the service drop.
  18. I have my last name and my cell number. I have to take some down because I had the wife help and she basically put one on every other tree lol
  19. Isn't the point of using lead for the mushroom effect. Doesn't solid copper go right through the animal and leave a small exit wound and a lot of lost animals
  20. Good luck, it's such an awesome moment when your child comes out.
  21. Seems about right, a long time ago I caught a 23 inch 9.9lb bass, have it mounted
  22. I'm sure it won't help you if it messes up and puts you on private land lol
