  1. Not sure but I bet you could find one if you look around. You could park in my driveway and walk across the street to get one. Almost all the people hunting bear set up a bait pile weeks before opening day. You can't hunt within 100 yards of the bait pile though. I got the permit just in case I see a bear while deer hunting,I don't go for bear.
  2. Yeah you can go on public land, just need the right zone permit depending on where you go. We will see if they change the dates and weapons for next year
  3. There's still a decent amount out, but on the nj hunting forum people had 5-6 bears at a site on camera up until a week ago, then they are gone. The whole state isn't open for bear either, just a few northwest counties. Supposedly there's a lot of people from out of state that come to nj for bear for the size of bears. Guys were even talking about the guys from duck dynasty come for bear. Baiting is legal in nj so it does make it a little easier but from what I hear most of the bears taste like garbage
  4. Permit may be $2 but you still need license for $135. So far 143 bears have been taken in 2 days. There's talks for next year to make an earlier season and possibly a bow season. If they are serious about culling the numbers they have to open season earlier before the bears start to den up.
  5. It doesn't bother me but it would be illegal also because the person is not hunting with you and your supposed to tag the deer right away. If you carry their license with you I could see that as an issue if your stopped.
  6. For bow only you just need the bow,you don't need the gun license
  7. I read a couple places that if you put down a article of your clothing they usually are found on it the next day
  8. If it makes you feel better I didn't get anything last year and only been out once this year.
  9. You should be able to wear tan clothes and still not get shot at. It amazes me people shoot at things without knowing what they are, like papist said,to many stupid people
  10. Hand muff,or a good seat. Does he like bow or gun better. If bow maybe a new trigger release or screw in hooks
  11. Is that the only pic you have of him. Wondering if it could be a messed up pic by the trail cam also, but does look like a hole with the skin flopped over
  12. I have the insanity cxp and love it,I had a Matthews switchback before it and it's a little bigger but shoots faster. In full draw I have to push forward to let it down if I am not shooting, can hold it for a while. I have no complaints so far, only shot one deer with it and was a pass through, but also about 10 yards away lol.
  13. I looked for a little and couldn't pin point the connections. I will look more, even the wiring schematics I found don't help
  14. Hi, I just picked up a gravely commercial 12 walk behind for cheap. Was wondering if anyone had a picture of the battery cables and where they connect, the cables on mine are just hanging and not connected and being a positive ground I don't want to mess it up. Looking for picture, thanks
  15. yeah I don't worry, it's faster than my old Mathews and goes right through deer that I've shot. I don't shoot deer over 30 yards anyway
  16. Not sure,300 arrow with 100gr tip,28.5 inches long. And this is just a guess based on you tube videos I've seen and articles I read about my bow. Although I would really like to see what speed it is at. The new arrows and drop away rest make a difference, bow is a bowtech insanity cpx and I think the ibo is like 355 from the ad
  17. You would def need to practice to see how your shooting. I have a bowtech insanity shooting around 350 fps and it still drops about a foot or so from 20-40 yards. I never shoot more than 30 yards but wanted to practice just to see if I could use a single pin. For me there's to much range to be comfortable with a single pin
  18. I can see a little hole with slight tint of blood in the fur in lung area. At first I thought it was dirt on my screen lol
  19. I got the cabelas stand hunter base layer,a little more than I wanted to spend but it makes a huge difference. The other thing I got was a jacket that blocks the wind. I also have a small scarf that I use around my neck. My core is warm now but still need to work on my feet.
  20. Maybe it was the guy I heard take 7 shots in a row lol
  21. I heard about 20 shots this year compared to about 50 last year. Saw the same amount of deer but no bucks again.
  22. I have 20 acres and I have yet to see a buck. Haven't shot a deer from the land in 3 years. The lot next to mine is 20 acres that just got sold and my neighbor next to that has 15 acres. All this land is surrounded by 200+ acres. My land goes from woods to thick stuff back to woods and back to really thick stuff and then woods before it goes to someone's else's property. Yesterday I saw about 15 doe but not even a small buck. On my trail cameras all season there was one 4 pointer but then just does. Could it be possible that there are to many doe and pushing the bucks out or are they just sitting in the thick stuff all the time. I talk to my neighbor and he hunted a lot and only saw a small 8 that busted him and maybe one or two 3-4 pointers. I would think I would see more bucks because that's 40 acres that hasn't been hunted hard in last 3 years(mine plus 20 next to me). Going to start shooting at least one doe a season with the bow and another if I get a dmp. Just wondering where all the bucks are.
  23. Gonna try and get out In the afternoon tomorrow
  24. I got the wolf and shoots just fine, took me 3 shots to get sighted in but that was luck. Grouping at 100 yards around 3 inches which is good enough for me, I use 100 grains of white hots with a 300 grain hornady sst
