What page is your " number " in say the 2018 deer harvest report? What about 2019? In fact if you look at the year over 2018 to 2019 percentage of buck take per season change you will see that state wide more bucks are being killed during the bow season then ever before and its stable during the gun season. But yea, nobody kills two bucks....bull shit. I would have more respect if guys were honest and said I like killing two buck and dont really care how it effect the herd. I can think of 10 guys off the top of my head that fill two buck tags almost every Year. I call Bullshit on the numbers. We have some of the highest Hunter densities per square mile in the country. No doubt about it that having two buck tags Regardless of filling both changes hunter behavior and makes them less selective.

Here is the most up to date advise I have been given so far "The 7x57 is worth about $200 more than a standard caliber per bb of guns. They were only made in the early 80s for a few years I believe. I've been shopping guns lately, and I doubt you can find a push feed M70 featherweight in good shape for less than $600, let alone a 7x57. There are still some deals to be found, but if I was selling it I'd put it online for $800, and $700 if I wanted to sell it fast. I've been looking for a 223 in an XTR for a while, they run around $8-900, about as rare as the 7x57, maybe less so."

There should be one buck tag per licenced hunter per calendar year. Every other tag should be antlerless and zone /person specific. Making NY a one buck state would go a long way towards improving the age structure and quality of the entire herd. After that make a state wide 10 day regular season after the rut like it should be .

Novel idea, I know. But maybe try communicating with them and a mutual understanding can be established, or at the very least head off any difficulties before they happen.

Thanks guys. I am in no hurry, so it wont be going to dealer or trade in. I just have too much stuff and should consolidate. Guns especially, considering I have hunted with a rifle about 2 hours in the last 15 years, maybe I dont need 20 of them laying around... Any way I think is one was made in the early 80s. Its in really good condition. I had a load worked up with 140 grain ballistic tips and shot excellent.

Looking for a gun value, if anyone can give me any guidance on a price i would Appreciate it ... Winchester model 70 Featherweight 7x57, very good condition. With the factory rings. Its has the red butt pad with Winchester logo on it.....think that matters for the date and manufacture location. Anyone have any input? Thanks in advance for the help.
