  1. Ok. So you said that this section brings nothing to the forum and it needs to go. You probably post in the political forum and vaccine crap more than anyone else. Maybe it’s you that brings absolutely nothing to this forum with your constant deflections and bs. And I’ll ask you again, do you know who Yuri Bezmenov is?
  2. The guy makes a valid point on what the hell is going on in this country, and you attack him asking why he’s still here and he contributes nothing. And again you deflect on the fact that you do not like the political forum, yet you keep posting here spewing your hypocritical crap. I think you’re the one who is brainwashed by the left. Have you ever heard of the term useful idiot? Do you know who Yuri Bezmenov is?
  3. I don’t really care when or what he posts, but he did make a valid point. You came up with a lame excuse why you made yours before I called you out on it, but it was a total contradiction of what you had said in the original post. Just beat it troll. Stick to the hunting and cooking threads.
  4. You ignored my post when you got caught lying. Your original post didn’t mention anything about the political thread being worse for our public image than the chuckle which was removed. Yet you continue to post and attack other members to say they contribute nothing when every statement that he posted is absolutely true. Maybe you should just stick to the hunting threads and stay out of the political stuff since you think these threads bring nothing to the forum.
  5. Really? This was your original post in the get rid of it thread. If you don’t like the political thread, stop posting in it.
  6. Why is the guy who wants this forum removed still posting in this forum?
  7. I would check with a catholic hospital if there’s one near you and get the antibody infusion. You will need to ask for it. Your symptoms will pretty much disappear in a day or 2. The only catch is that you need to get it within 3 days of getting exposed I think. Hope that everyone in your house is feeling better soon.
  8. Just got a pic of my target buck. He’s been with the same doe since Sunday morning. She has a broken leg so I know it’s the same one. Also getting pics on a friends cam of his target buck trailing a doe all day today. Looks like we’re in the midst of the second rut.
  9. I think it brings a lot to the forum. It sure makes it obvious who Yuri Bezmenov is referring to when he describes who are the useful idiots that are being used by the socialists/communists in this country. Let’s face it. The left is doing everything that they can to destroy this country. There is a reason why his approval rating is at an all time low. There is not one good thing that he has done since taking office and he sure as hell has not been able to unite this country or follow the science like he has preached. If you don’t like the political forum, don’t read it or post in it. Move along. Simple as that.
  10. Congrats @grampy . That’s the way to overcome the obstacles that get thrown your way!
  11. And btw, I never reuse any broadhead. For the amount of money that I spend on gear, I’ll use a new broadhead every time. $15 for a new head is not going to kill me. I spend that much on lunch during the week at work.
  12. I’ve always had good luck when shooting Montecs. I also believe shot placement is key. If you put them were you’re supposed to, you’ll always get 2 holes and they won’t go far. If it’s a downward quartering to shot and it comes out the stomach, you can definitely expect a lot of internal bleeding and there’s a good chance that the stomach can plug the exit hole. That’s what it sounded like happed with this deer. Sure expandables can leave a huge hole, but I’ll take 2 holes over 1 any day, and I’ve never had a problem with them passing through. I guess that is a whole other argument for another day. Another thing that people aren’t aware of is that there are plenty of knockoffs out there, regardless of what kind of broadhead is used, and that can play a big role when people say that they aren’t sharp. Always buy from a reputable dealer and stay away from EBay when buying arguably the most important tool that a bow hunter needs for a quick clean kill.
  13. With a 15 degree drop in temps and a perfect wind, I finally got out for a sit tonight in my ground blind. First time in almost 6 weeks that I got out. My target buck showed up there 2 days ago and I was hoping for a repeat tonight, but it wasn’t meant to be. I ended up having 6 does pass by within 10 yards without a clue that I was there. With about 10 minutes to go, I got a pic of my target buck across the road trailing a doe right past one of my portable stands. Looks like things are starting to heat up again. Hopefully the wind is in my favor again soon for another ground blind sit. I’m still not ready for a sit in one of my stands, but it felt great to be out there again. Thankfully my blind is a very short walk from my truck. My mind wants to go, but my body keeps saying not yet. Lol.
  14. I have cams that pick up deer bedding at night and I also have other cams that only have deer bedding during the day. I didn’t set them up that way, it’s just the way it worked out. At night, they bed in the corner of a green field near a barn and cattails out in the open. During the day I have 2 cams in some really thick stuff and they bed there often. But I’ve never seen them bed there at night.
  15. When I built my Savage, I had to swap out the bolt face for a different caliber. Of course, I screwed something up. I was testing several different rounds from Hornady, Federal, SSA, and Nosler. IIRC, I got a few FTF from both the Hornady and the Federal, but not the SSA or Nosler. I was stumped. It turns out that the entire firing pin mechanism is way more complicated than I would’ve thought. I’m glad that I found out about Desh Industries on the SavageShooters forum. The man really knows his stuff about Savage and does everything himself. More so than I think most gunsmiths who work on all kinds of guns. Given the price of ammo nowadays, it was money well spent.
  16. I would test some different ammo on a very cold day to see if the problem persists. If you can’t figure it out, contact Grimstod at Desh Industries. https://deshind.com/bulletin/ He is very knowledgeable with Savage Bolts. I had an issue with my Savage and he straightened it out for me. I sent him my bolt and he had it back to me in about a week at a very fair price. He has the right tools and knowledge to test spring pressure and travel. He can also fine tune everything making your gun even more accurate.
  17. Have you cleaned the gun recently? Maybe lubed the firing pin? A little lube on the pin itself in cold conditions can slow the movement enough while still putting a dimple on the primer and causing a fail to fire.
  18. He’s not getting a pass yet. Still 2 months left in our season. However if he does make it, he will be a great one next year!
  19. I actually can draw my bow. That’s not the problem. I wish it was that easy...
  20. As I head from the doctor to PT, I get this pic. This buck has been in my area all season. This is killing me. Hopefully I can pull it together soon and make a move on him.
