Decided to make a winter fire in the snow tonight. And I didn’t want to create a new thread. Lol

They are...

Sig does. They sell discounted firearms to first responders. In fact, I know of 2 dealers out of state that will ship to NY with no tax and the discount.

The P365XL feels like a totally different gun over the P365. If you liked the P365, then I would get the P365XL. Myself, I like hammer fired over the striker fired so I just picked up an older hard to find P239. It’s about the same size as the P365XL.

Wow. First time I saw this. Hoping for a speedy recovery for you after the surgery. Ladders are the most dangerous tool in the house. I had a fall of my own back in October. A rope broke that I was pulling to open a valve while I was loading a truck. I fell backwards from about 12’ up onto concrete. Multiple rib fractures, spine fracture, 2 herniated discs, and a hell of a concussion. Out cold for who knows how long and a free helicopter ride too. I was very lucky considering, and so were you. Don’t ever take anything for granted. It will be a long road with PT, but just be grateful for what you have. It could have been much worse.

Buying a shotgun in Jersey

That’s probably the best option, getting it shipped to another store. No charge and if you change your mind, it’s an easy refund. -

Any updates on how you made out? -
As of right now the only Bass Pro or Cabelas that has one in stock is Hamburg PA. You can always check online before you head up that way.
-
If I was going to buy a backup rifle, I would stick with 30-06 instead of stocking up on another caliber of ammo at those prices. That’s exactly what I did with my 6.8spc and that ammo was a fraction of what they charge for the 7mm-08.
-
I just did a search on ammoseek. Looks like there’s a bunch available but holy crap it’s expensive.
-
That’s what I did when I bought my Savage 110T from Bass Pro. I drove to Bridgeport and looked at the same gun in another caliber because they didn’t have the one that I wanted, then ordered one and had it shipped when I got home. Even if they had it, I still would’ve had to have it shipped due to the silly laws in CT.
-
A quick search showed that Sportsman’s Warehouse in Warminster PA stocks the Sauer 100 in some calibers and the 7mm-08 can be ordered. It might be worth a drive to handle one even if it’s a different caliber to see if you like it.

Buying a shotgun in Jersey

Agreed. But only if they have it in stock. I’d still just have it shipped to my FFL though. Especially if you factor in the price of gas, tolls, and time spent. -
Let’s go Brandon...

And if the OP is traveling from Long Island, AC is quite a bit closer than the Cabelas or Bass Pro in NY. -

A lot of guns are very hard to find right now. If one is looking for a specific gun, sometimes only 1 or 2 may be found even during an internet search, if you’re lucky. I know myself that 4 of the last 5 purchases that I made, I was only able to find them out of state online. Some guns are readily available, while others can be rarer than hens teeth. -
The 1321m is actually rated up to 12oz. Not that anyone would ever throw something that heavy. The newer rods are not quite like the originals. Where do you plan on fishing with this setup?
-
Leaving the S off makes a big difference. That would’ve designated the newer style. It’s still not a 1321m though. That is an old school rod with a much heavier weight rating. That would be way overkill for fishing a river under next to a bridge. Enjoy.
-
Ok. That’s what you implied in the original post as well. But 111m still doesn’t make sense. The 1321m is a 11’ or 132” 1 piece medium action. The 1201m is a 10’ or 120” 1 piece medium action. Is the 111m an 11” 1 piece medium action? It doesn’t make sense...Did they cut the rod? A 1321m will still be a 1321m when it’s a finished rod.
-
I’ve heard of a 1201m, but never a 111m. Care to elaborate?

Like Grouse said, have it shipped to your FFL. I’ve bought 2 firearms from Cabelas/Bass Pro. Both of them were shipped to my LGS with no problems. I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. -
Congratulations!

I’m pretty sure that’s what it is. It looks like he has a hold of his head. -

Well that’s all she wrote. I passed on a small buck, a shed buck, and a yearling tonight with my bow. I was hoping that one of the fat mature does would’ve given me an opportunity but it wasn’t meant to be. I was just happy to get out. I definitely hunted less this year than any other that I can remember for reasons outside of my control. 8 months to go until opening day.
