  1. For your budget you can get a new shotgun. I bought a beretta a300 a couple years ago and i am very pleased with it.
  2. If u check the ny daily news they have some ridiculous headlines about the nra recently
  3. Give taconic hereford a look. 917 acres. there is plenty of land there.
  4. Vjp. U predator hunt right. Any info on the wicked 400 ? I was told its very good from another predator hunter. Said to get the wicked 400 with a halo shield.
  5. This guy is trolling you with these questions
  6. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/45478.html

  9. i was at stewart pheasant hunting last week. i probably knocks 30 ticks of me (two were in me) and then took about 40 off my dog. what a mess.
  10. Vjp. I was gonna say prove it..... But you def did! Lol. Nice shot!
  11. had a buck chasing down a doe in my back yard the other day. pretty cool to see
  12. looking for a 3c. I have 3m to swap
  13. I've been trying to do some research on pheasant hunting in bashakill. I think that I read once that it was a recovery site. Is that true or maybe I'm thinking of something else. That the Dec was considering using that as a pheasant recovery area. Anyway have you ever pheasant hunt today. How was it?
  14. Its a big thread so if it was already posted disregard. Id def go with a 12 gauge to start. They sell combo guns with a smooth bore and iron sight barrel. Mossberg 500 and remington 870 are two that come to mind right away. Id go shotgun before rifle just cause it gives you more options as far as game you can hunt. And you can use shotguns across the state, where you cant use rifles everywhere
  15. Idk if you misunderstood what I wrote or im misunderstanding you. But yeah, i agree with what your saying. When im bird hunting i hit the fields and then the edges, about 30-40 yards in just like you. I was saying if you are going to deer hunt, you should avoid the edges since you have to assume people pheasant hunting will be there with there dogs. I wouod get deeper into the woods for deer ans let bird hunters push them back to you. Anyway we are both on the same page now. And ive had too many runners this year. Dog goes on point. Then has to keep relocating. And before you know it the bird is flushing far off. I have. 2 1/2 year old gsp.
  16. And it's not a disrespect to people who are bow hunting and are working hard to be invisible. I get it. But when you're on state land it is what it is. There's no other way around it. And I can't imagine any Hunter being purposely disrespectful to another hunter in the woods. I can guarantee that if those guys who are pheasant hunting knew you were there I'm sure they would went the other way. In the end we are all in the same boat together doing the same thing we love to do.
  17. Jaeger. I was kind of alluding to the point of if you know you're in a place where they stock pheasants why would you be hunting on a field edge? You know that people are going to be out there with their dogs. People aren't pheasant hunting in the middle of the woods. I deer hunt as well. So if I'm at a state land where they release pheasants I would not sit up on the field edge. I don't think I own the woods so I cant get mad at somebody for hunting. I actually think you could use that to your advantage. If you know where people are coming from with the dogs if you set up in the right spot you have pretty much a free dear Drive. Lol
  18. I pheasant hunt and have never ran into a bow hunter before. I've only seen people pheasant hunting in fields and maybe field edges. But I've never seen anybody ever going to Deepwoods to find pheasants. Would be odd to see people going into Deepwoods searching for pheasants. How deep into the woods where these pheasant hunters?
  19. Looking for a 4s. Pm me if you want to trade
