can somebody explain to me why people are even using the confederate flag as their avatar? or supporting it all of a sudden in public? i mean, the flag represents the south (which we aren't from, I'm guessing) and the confederacy LOST the war. what personal attachment does anyone even have to it? Im going to guess that the majority of us are new immigrants to this country within the last century, who immigrated most likely a northern city. so what is the attachment to the flag? just curious.

been watching tv all day. espn., food network, msg, usa, outdoor channel, disney, nickolodeon, mtv2. haven't seen one thing about it on any of the channels. what are you watching? went out for lunch, to stop and shop, diner, walmart, gas stations. didn't see one thing that related to being gay. nobody talked about. my family values are the same, and so are yours I'm sure.

Ive been to stores in florida and there were stacks of 22 ammo. Nobody cared one bit and when i was freakimg out they looked at me like i was crazy lol. I was at cabelas in conn and they had shelves of it as well. Seems from my own experience its just a ny thing.

Maybe im wrong but i thought all pools needed to be fenced in... I think out off all the useless laws this is one i could get behind. I cant imagine any responsible gun owner not locking up their firearms at all times if children are in the house. Two adults at home you can do what you want. But anyone who knows kids can attest to the fact that no matter how many times you tell them something, they will test the limits. All people should handle firearms as if they are loaded but once in a while you get lax and thats when things happen. Anytime i read a story about a kid getting their parents gun and shooting it i always blame the parent for not using all safety precautions.

hey. i got mine from a local breeder in dutchess county. love my dog. great house dog, doesn't bark, calm in the house, but i take him hunting and hiking and he is running non stop. pm if you want details on the breeder. i 2nd the suggestion for navhda. thats a good starting point. also i have hunted behind dogs from catskill peasantry that were great. almost bought a pup from there.

Wow. Great observation. How did they get those guns that were used in the supposed shootings???? Just a farse. But when u get emotions involved with people who arent educated on firearms then u can sell them anything. And unfortunately there were probably a few people on the fence on how they fealt about guns and this propoganda nonsense just swayed them one way.

I think my biggest issue is that if native americans find it insulting then its an insult. Why are me, you and anyone else telling them its not an insult. I saw this really cool slogan that piggybacked of the "dont tread on me" saying. It said "dont tread on anyone". Found it on a libertarian site. And yes. When you ask for a jig at a tackle shop thats exactly what your asking for. You sure as heck throw around the n word with confidence. I see what your saying. Not sure if im wrong or not, but im pretty sure the nfl team is making money of redskins, not any natives. I never seen a native american selling or profiting off anything with the word redskin affixed to it. maybe im wrong, but thats my observation. Your examples about art work containing nudity and body parts being taught in science, I dont feel relate to this topic. Im not sure how someone could take the word "penis" in bio class as a slur or offensive. It is a scientific word. I do see the point your trying to make about where do we draw the line, but I think those examples were taken to the extreme. There are leaders from several tribes saying they dont like the name. It is a slur. I dont understand why people who arent Native American find it appauling that they dont like it. I dont know what your heritage is, but I can assume you wouldnt want any type of derogotory name about your heritage celibrated. If someone told me that my school would be the Whops, Id tell them to go shove it.

Yeah. I said it on another post that I understand why the name "redskin" is being changed. I wouldnt want to be called the "Yellowskins". Or the NY Whops. The Chicago Colored Boys. Its their word/culture. If native americans take that word as a slur, then it's a slur. end of story. The moniker "warriors" isnt offensive. Comparing the two doesnt match up in my opinion. Thats just my take on the matter. Im Italian. If a school was called whops, ginnys, degos, greaseballs, mobsters, I would be like change that sh*t. And if a Native American told me "well, its not a slur. It's a term of endearment" my response would be, "Im Italian, not you. Dont tell me whats a slur and whats not a slur to me". Same as what they are doing.

I got verbally attacked and almost hit with a cart at walmart because i was looking at the ammo/gun case. Me and another guy with his wife and infant were iust looking. Not a word being said. This lady comes by and says "i hope your not waiting to buy something". We just ignored her. Then she went on a rant about how we are weak people because we kill animals and stand over them enjoying thsm taking their last breath. Told us to go kill isis On and on and on. I was like "huh. Keep it moving lady". Which in return made her spin her cart around and come within an inch of smahing me. Proceeded to yell and go nuts while me and this dude just stood there looking at her. But. I almost chalk it up to her being a walmartian. Lol. We all know walmart can bring out some creatures. Bizarre non the less

My old hs changed its name too. We were the chinks. They caved cause it was a "slur". Whats wrong with people. Nobody was offended by the name chinks. I found it to be an honor to orientals. Smh
