  1. Ken Basile, ECO in Allegany county, has been arrested for drug charges. The charges result from an investigation over the past couple of years. There were strong rumors about this over the past few months. http://www.wellsvilledaily.com/news/20161026/wellsville-resident-and-environmental-conservation-officer-ken-basile-arrested-on-charges-related-to-drug-investigations
  2. As of events in the past 24 hours, Julian Assange is innocent. It's complicated but all the details are below. It should make major new in a couple days I would think. http://www.inquisitr.com/3612986/reddit-strikes-again-julian-assange-accuser-toddandclare-allegedly-manufactured-scandal/
  3. Hey Uptown - good news. Just released. http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/17/politics/battleground-polls-2016-elections/index.html
  4. Just released from WikiLeaks were 3 encryption keys for 3 sets of files The keys are here on the WikiLeaks Twitter Page https://twitter.com/wikileaks This gets complicated but apparently Assange wants no doubt that future files he releases are authentic. I have no idea how he plans on releasing the new stuff but there are encryption keys that must match the documents to view them. 1. John Kerry 2. Ecuador 3. OK FCO (UK Foreign Office) This has also led to rumor and speculation that he has been extradited or is dead. But there is no evidence of that at this time. Nobody really know much more at this time but it sounds like plenty more is coming. A little more information here https://www.reddit.com/r/WikiLeaks/comments/57tycg/precommitment_1_john_kerry/ http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2016/10/going-viral-unconfirmed-rumors-assange-dead-wikileaks-posts-deadmans-keys/
  5. Almost every hunting forum has a liberal hack or two on it right now.
  6. Our food plots don't just grow big antlers! Funny picture from the cams. Hung like a horse. It is actually a yearling buck but here is what the underside looks like in it's natural form. Thought you guys might get a kick out of it. Good luck this weekend fellas!
  7. Its funny how fast a yote can find a deer but you rarely have pictures of them on trail cameras. Weird.
  8. I do not go anywhere near it nor do I even think of getting out of my stand for at least 30 minutes and 45 minutes before I ever make it to the shot site. If I am unsure then I like to wait a couple hours. Sometimes deer do not go very far at all before laying down or stopping to analyze their situation. I have learned this the hard way. The best way to address the yotes is to probably plan on a night in the woods and stay at the base of your treestand listening for them. People claim they howl at a kill. I am not sure whether or not that is the case. But you may be able to pick up on any rustling going on. And your own scent may keep it from happening if the deer did not go far. I think tracking it too soon is the worst of ideas. If you believe it is gut shot then it is almost guaranteed you will bump it within a few hours of the hit. Most people say to wait 8 hours. I might run home and grab a blanky and rough it out. I am the one who made the bad shot after all.
  9. Yeah this is one of the frustrating things about cameras if you let it be. Unless you have cameras flying overhead on drones, they are hard to rely on. Indicative of deer movement a lot of the time, but certainly not all the time. Plus they can't do things like grunt to get a deer to come near them
  10. I don't think there is a "best" one. They are all good and your choice will be decided on your own tastes. I killed a couple deer with the SpitFires but stopped using them when the mechanicals came out that do not flip over (as the spitfires do). On angles, I would be leery of the spitfires since they have to flip over first. NAP and Rage seem to be much better on angles. The NAP Trophy Tip style should get in there a good inch before the blades deploy. Rage Hypodermic the same. Better reliability on angles IMO. I have used NAP Kill Zones for the past few years with excellent results. Personally, I did not like the Rage broadheads because they open too easy. The NAPs open much harder. But that is also why some people do not like the NAPs. But I think they are all good. NAP Archery has been on the market for 2+ decades. Rage has been on the market now for quite a few years. I think that may be the most important factor. Whatever you use, put it in the crease and you should be in good shape. Real good shape.
  11. If the arrow stays in - even better. Whats the problem? Are these aluminum arrows? I don't see any other way they can break. The arrow breaking off can have its advantages as well - tells you penetration. it sounds like all deer have kicked back and broke the arrow. And that means it has been right in the crease. And all three deer have died in sight and have been easy to find. A lot of hunters probably wish they had your "problems". Congrats on the doe.
  12. In addition, I also believe that deer move very little during a full moon whether it is day or night. They may be more active at night but do not venture very far from where they are at noon. They may hold up in a spot for days. With their eyes, a full moon is as bright as noon. I remember many a night in my 45 years on this earth going out spotlighting on a full moon and seeing very few deer,
  13. I really do believe that the rut happens at the same time every year and that Alzheimer's research shows the effects that the moon has on the rut. That may not be what he intended but there have been too many studies done of dead does along the road to show that the fetal fawns were bred about the same time every year.
  14. Yeah I think you are right. The pump does it all itself. I am liking this Northstar unit that I think is similar to yours. I like ths smaller tank too for the back of the ATV if I go that route. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200578565_200578565
  15. It does not need any PSI? There is no gauge on it? I will have to look in to that. Sounds like it could be a winner.
  16. I think you might mean "Fimco". Does it hold pressure for the full tank? I had one like this but made by County Line. It had a boom. It worked great the first 1/3 of the tank and then it lost pressure.
  17. I forgot I posted this I'll have to look in to it later but hard to believe we have breeding populations coming this way when western states stop the season in each unit after a certain amount of females are killed.
  18. That's what every family does who has someone killed by a grizzly out west. and they all get thrown out of court

  20. Yeah, my first year with my land and sometimes I wish I had just kept doing it for the brassicas. But I do have a cultipacker and I did cultipack them. They grew fine. I got them in late so they did not reach the potential they should have but they grew in nice even stands. If you kill off all the grass then they seem to be fine. I think the cultipacker helps some. For me, I am going to turn my land over in early spring from now on just to loosen up my heavy clays. And then spray it off all summer. When the time comes, cultipack, plant, cultipack. The cultipacker still seems to be well on soil that has not been worked in a few weeks. If you can find one then I think you will be all the better for it. But honestly, it would not surprise me if they grew great without it.
  21. That's right boys - already looking ahead to next year. I need to upgrade my sprayer. I been using a County Line sprayer on a trailer hitch. Worked great for a few years but like anything with wheels - one of the wheels finally came off. I was almost done so I put the tank on the back of my pickup and finished. Worked great but not my preferred way of doing it. I want something for my tractor or possibly my ATV. Something off the ground with no wheels. 3-point for the tractor would be best since I have a few months to save up for it. I have been looking around at all kinds of 3-point and ATV sprayers. Lots of bad reviews for most the stuff I have seen. Looking for recommendations from the New York intelligentsia (that means you). If any of you got a work horse of a sprayer that works great, holds pressure, and just keeps on ticking then let me know. Like I said, more interested in a 3-point or an ATV model that mounts on the rack, Thanks! LEG
  22. But it's real. I don't believe they would ever stay around here if they did it. A group of scientists is calling for re-introducing cougars into states like New York and New Jersey in an attempt to lower the exploding whitetail deer population. They say the 220-pound predators are a natural solution to a problem that causes 1.2 milllion car accidents per year, including 200 fatalities. http://www.foxnews.com/science/2016/08/11/got-deer-cougars-could-help-control-herds-study-says.html
  23. It's so dry I don't even think the roundup is working. seriously.
