I think I'm more suprised with the participants. Healthy heated debate I expect.. childish playground name calling.. not so much. -

Exactly. -
So then technically the current rule could cause some one to break the law... no doe tag.. didn't look hard enough and shot a buck with 2 1/2 inch spikes... I'm honest enough to say that isn't a mistake. That falls on the hunter not the law. Basically what you're saying is that the laws need to be dumbed down until the law breakers can't possibly break the law... the hell with the law's objective... we're going to start making laws and rules to protect the hunters from their own lack of responsibility..

How could protecting yearling bucks with a 3 pt on a side rule be harmful?

16 x 20 with 16 x 15 ft loft area that hangs over front porch... my loft will only fit 2 beds, but if the pitch of the roof was raised to 12/12 or even a gambrel style... you could maybe get as many as 6 beds in the loft.

Ok if we're being realistic there will be deer shot and left... If we're being honest it will have nothing to do with AR's and will always be the hunters fault... not unfortunate mishaps.

Here is one I made myself... easy to carry.. you hardly even know it's there.

The competition for food source would not be good for other animals in the ADK's if elk were introduced

My Dad worked a lot and was out of town most of the week... he loved taking me hunting and fishing... I loved having any excuse to spend as much time as possible with him when I got the chance and enjoyed every minute of it. -
You should have just told him that you were practicing for a championship shoot coming up that you won for the last 10 years and you were going to try and win it this year without using any of the bells and whistles...and that you're not allowed to practice with anyone that has a spotting scope or you'll be disqualified..lol

OOps .. you're right.. it was Steve.. sorry.

Why so big for a hunting cabin?.. you can achieve the same thing with a smaller building.. unless you're thinking of having 20 hunters in the cabin... basically you need a kitchen, bathroom and living/ sleeping area... you can do that with less than 1000 sq ft. if you plan it out. Especially if you incorporate a bunk room in the loft area. A 20 by 24 cabin with a loft bunks can sleep as many as 8 in the loft area.

I took my sons ( now 27 and 21) hunting since they were about 8 or 9... small game, big game... even frogging...and they loved it... although they still spend a little time hunting with me they do not have the passion for it that I have and have never hunted without me... I took them fishing as well and they seemed to have latched on to fishing way more than hunting. -

or three small diet cokes....lol... that goofball Bloomberg thinks that banning jumbo drinks will stop soda lovers from drinking the same amount anyway... liberalism is DEFINITELY a disease that affects rational thought. -
How did we get from shooting the wrong deer is an accident or mistake to the DEC is forcing something on hunters that can't count to 5...I think you're making the 3 on a side rule way more complicated than it really is.. counting 5 points (the benchmark for the biggest deer you can't shoot) is not that difficult ... and the law wasn't made to pick out a buck that satisfies you.. it was made to protect most yearling bucks. If we're not protecting yearling bucks then I guess just identifying it as a buck would be enough... if you don't like the 3 on a side rule for yearling buck protection... then offer up another standard to achieve the goal. Otherwise that is the system.. like it or not. Without the restriction (which is minimal at best) you have no yearling buck protection... using the short comings of hunters isn't a good argument, in my opinion, against an AR to protect young bucks... especially something as simple as counting 3 points on a side... I understand that you don't agree... but I just don't see the complexity and, you don't have to be jacked up on AR's to follow the law

Yeah It's funny how we think that suddenly people realize how bad smoking is... like they didn't know that eons ago... everyone smoked then including politicians... all of a sudden its bad for you and needs to be taxed... smoking a cigarette is probably no worse than eating a Hot Pocket..lol... lets see.. less smokers today and more cancer.. so it must not be just the smoking... I say tax the Hot Pockets! LOL -

About cigarettes? Thats a whole other can of worms.. lets stick to one ridiculous liberal "feel good" tax before moving on to another. Plus.. that is one that we can no longer do much about and that I am also against... I'm okay with restrictions on smoking in public places, but defintiely not on taxing tobacco products. I love how liberals are okay with legalizing pot smoking but want to ban cigarettes... makes absolutely no sense. Maybe you want it legalized so that you can tax that too. -

Thinking something is ridiculous is far from being bitter or angry... if you don't see the silliness in your thought process, then surely you wouldn't understand. Do you have any more "sensible" taxes that you think need to be imposed? Maybe we should tax or ban any belts that have too many holes allowing overweight people to loosen their belts as they get larger, not being able to loosen their belt will make fat people stop eating... thats right in line with your logic. -
Welcome.. I'm right around the corner from you almost

I think people are perfectly cabable of making their own choices when it comes to what they want to drink.. by the way.. it's called freedom.. in case you were wondering. The only thing dragging society down are people like you that allow the government to do whatever they want because they think they know better than everyone else about how people should live their lives. -

Yeah that's what we need.. more taxes... maybe we ought to tax the diners and restaurants that give you more food for your money than the government thinks you ought to have... that's how ridiculous you sound.
