  1. I have heard a lot of people here that talk about how other guys hunt and say those fellas know nothing about deer hunting... frankly the way you and arrow talk about other hunters make me think you know very little about deerhunting as well... And just for the record I have snuck up on and killed bucks that you would drool over while sporting a huge cigar so I'm not sure what smoking has to do with anything... bowhunters are no better hunters than anyone else.. they just hunt with a different weapon is all.
  2. some of the responses on this thread are a good example of how easily some people will buy into a new tax... they would rather harp on another citizen that just wants to enjoy an activity before questioning a lawmaker on why the money we already gave for the purpose of maintaining public lands and trails was misused. We are our own worst enemies by continuing to allow Albany to rape our lives and livelyhoods without question. Whoever is sponsoring such a bill to impose a tax in bicycles should be voted out of office in my opinion.. because it shows how out of touch that lawmaker is with his or her citizens
  3. And your opinion is just that an opinion.. my observation is different.. I usually find that the more book educated a person is the less common sense he usually has... and my opinion of an open mind is someone who hasn't found the truth yet and is still searching. Regurgitating facts, whether from google or wherever, are still facts.. but you see.. open minded people have trouble with facts because it means they finally have a truth where they can make up their mind yet that would mean a committment... and from my observations open minded people are not good with committment
  4. I'm pretty sure virgils comment was yet another mindless insult from a fool
  5. so true.. need to just beat them .. not beat them back..LOL.. A good attitude adjustment would do wonders
  6. That's exactly what he is saying... just proves his immaturity... and yes G-man it is all about someone else shooting his spike horn
  7. Another great unanswered question Arrow...and the Einstein thing was witty.... you might want to find a kids 12 and under forum so you can act like a child with people your own age.
  8. well I happen to be a hiker, biker and runner as well as a hunter.. and more taxes is not the answer. And we all pay for the upkeep of the land through our incometaxes and sales taxes and all th other taxes already imposed..
  9. I still feel that anyone who supports crossbows is too lazy to learn to learn how to bowhunt. Yeah because learning how to bowhunt is so much better than learning how to hunt with a crossbow... : Yup. Then you are a bowhunter. ;D And that is different than just a hunter how??
  10. Just another example of government control... bike registrations will kill the bicycle market and we lose one more freedom... our taxes are meant to pay for all the public trails, parks and even roadways where bikes are riden... the reason thaty want to put a new "TAX" on bikes is to make up for the misappropriation of our tax dollars. But, many will let yet another tax be imposed on an already strapped population here in upstate NY. Sorry guys but I just think it is just so wrong!

  12. Ted makes some good points.. especially the point about if you don't like it.. don't do it! baiting will never be my cup of tea.. but if that's yours and it's legal.. have at it... the point about not fighting amongst ourselves is a good one.. the old.."shut up and hunt" rule is a good one I think. Have your opinions.. and offer them to others... just don't impose your way on others. After all we all have the same goal and that is to make sure our hunting rights are preserved for us and future generation s of hunters.
  13. Destructive .. yet constructive as well remember..their decline years ago is what caused the decline of the moose population in NY as well.
  14. Is that a 'VET in the garage too??
  15. Doc seems to be missing in action.. we don't agree all the time but I miss the intelligent debate..
  16. I know we don't agree on alot Steve but that I agree with totally...
  17. Don't forget the NYB Gods have spoken part.. thats the most important
  18. Some guys are just so quick to try and get around what they know to be wrong... if you know it isn't YOUR land.. and YOU don't own it...then it is NOT YOURS to hunt... simple.. get permission or move on
  19. Just a word of caution.. WD40 works great short term if you are continually cleaning.. but if used and put away for too long it will turn a shellac type consistancy.. not good... I learned the hard way before being told by a gunsmith friend that Break Free is actually better
