  1. First you failed to mention the pro open carry rally that was going on outside the Target store led by Open Carry Texas at the time of this photo... everyone in the store knew why the guys were in the store with their weapons... the only opposition to the rally was the group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense who were not at the event... planned event.. nobody walked in unexpectedly carrying an AK47.. Target was aware of and notified of the rally... I'm surprised a gun owner would take a stance based on a photo without telling the whole story. I have no interest in owning an AR... but who are you to tell anyone what they need to protect themselves?... If you're going to argue that we all only need only 45's when an AR, or any other weapon of choice, can handle the same 98% of situations... then maybe you better bow out .. your stance is getting to sound a little pro gun control anyway.
  2. Being out voted by the anti's is not my concern... having all our votes cancelled out because other gun owners didn't think it was important enough to vote is the real problem... flaunting my right to openly carry is a statement of protest.. the same as holding up a sign... and won't turn off the smart people who get it, only those that will never be on my side anyway. My pride tells me to stand up proud and defend my 2nd amendment right as big and loud as those standing up against it. Passivism has never worked for making a point.
  3. The truth IS.. that one side is telling the truth and the other is not... the dilemma is which side is it??? If 10 years from now the states that have fracking haven't become ghost towns with no human or plant life left... we will have our answer.
  4. I disagree... not about the common sense and safety part... but about bringing the shooting hours closer to darkness where the "judgment call" may have to be made more often by more hunters, with many pushing the envelope because the new hours have given them the opportunity to do so... not to mention more hunters making judgment calls means greater chance for mistakes especially the closer you get to actual darkness... most of the guys on here have said it themselves.. there is usually plenty of light left at sunrise and sunset... that can not be said about 30 minutes before or after... seldom is there a need for a low light call at sunrise or sunset... there will always be some kind of judgment call when discharging a firearm in any light.. why add the low light factor on top of that? Remember, these aren't decisions being made to save the world... just to kill a stupid deer.
  5. They don't have a problem with background checks as much as the information required by the person who is being checked... I have no problem with checking my background... I have a problem with having to give up anything other than my ID so they can check on me... they don't need to know what gun I'm buying or how many... they just need to give the okay or not that a gun can be sold to me...
  6. But she should be the one to decide that and nobody else.. that would be her right.
  7. The best part of your season was the most important part as well... keep up the good work... Merry Xmas!
  8. LMAO!! Where the hell did that come from???
  9. Glad my reality is not the same as yours... I have always made time to get away from my business.. life is too short my friend... gotta stop and smell the roses or smoke a good cigar with a Manhatten.. Some of my best decisions and ideas have been made sittin' around thinkin' about nothin'.
  10. Curious why we haven't heard any horror stories coming out of the Dakota's with all the fracking going on... I think the story will be told in the areas that now have fracking... time will tell of the effect, if any, it has on the water sources... but like Doc says.. Who do you believe?
  11. What you call extreme may not be extreme to someone else... when we're talking about the 2nd Amendment we're talking about everyone's right to keep and bear arms... not just yours and mine... I don't see anybody imposing their will on me and trying to jamb a 30 round clip down my throat.. I have no use for one, but maybe someone else does... and frankly, it is a weak man that allows any other man to impose their will on him... and you ARE advocating taking away rights when you side with only points of gun ownership and carry laws that YOU think are appropriate and disregard others. Personally I like the stereotype of a gun owner... mainly because I couldn't care less about turning anyone off... sick of the, "carefully what you say and do" ...you don't want to piss off the people that don't like you much anyways BS. Not sure why guys like you buy into that politically correct crap... look it even has you calling fellow gun owners.. "gun nuts"... because they have a different view of the 2nd amendment than you and your "not anti-gun, gun owner"
  12. No I meant the part about letting what someone posts bother you so much...
  13. I think I am a bit more curious as to why this has become such a big issue for you... you're beating it to death... it is what it is and isn't going to change any time soon... accept it and learn how to live with it... you'll sleep much better.
  14. I don't do hypotheticals... they are like Big Foot... they aren't real... and a waste of time
  15. LOL... just an observation.. nothing personal. Quit scaring the women and newbies!
  16. Must have been a glitch in your browser.. I'm having no problem.
  17. I guess it would depend on the person... although I agree that VJP can get a bit overboard at times, I am not the type that coddles anyone eiher... if you want to play in the game with the big boys, you need to be able to handle how they play. I am however for making a strong point without having to include childish name calling... not everyone is going to like what I say, especially those that talk about things they know nothing about... misinformation and hearsay as a basis for someone's "opinion" should always be outted, yet done respectfully. But there will always be those that take offense to being proven wrong... if calling out someone's BS is to be considered "bullying" then I suppose sometimes I am going to be considered a bully... I'm okay with that... if new hunters or young women are going to get involved in a blood sport like hunting and the people involved in it they may want to consider getting a thicker skin... they may need it.
  18. The difference is how it's accepted by your peers... at least the way it was referenced as to an embarrassment if publicized... as far as law enforcement is concerned.. yes it is the same. Not to mention one could get a speeding ticket just because they're not paying attention from one speed zone to another... guilty of speeding? Yup... a concocted plan to willfully break the law... not even close.
  19. Most if not all groups have fools in their employ... I know of such a group that I think you might even belong to... yet that doesn't necessarily say anything about the group, what it stands for or what it has accomplished.
  20. Ahhh... but many of us thrive on useless information... otherwise who would answer all the useless questions? And . yes the money can be really good!
  21. I would hope there are no sissy's that would cry "bullying" on a hunting forum... yeah I said it.. SISSY!
  22. Thinking about work???? Maybe you are more numb than I thought... that's insane buddy!! The stand is suppose to get you away from that stuff... us older guys need to have a long talk with you.. young man..
  23. I think the point system is a great idea... with license and firearm forfeiture once you reach a certain amount.
