We had two hammering on the roost. Then they did what they always do, flew down just out of sight and strutted and gobbled until the hens joined them and off they went in silence. Setup for a couple hours and snoozed. On my way home I pulled a Hail Mary at a local spot. I came in from the East and thought I could see him on the gas line. So I crawled out to a tree and setup. Started calling and bam he appears in the field, strutting. Then a hen joined him and I thought it was game over but as he came closer, she'd stay close by eating. This went on for 30 minutes or so. He gobbled twice. He finally broke and came into the tall grass and walked right at me and I crushed him at 40 ish. He went down like I dropped an anvil on him. He came about 325 yards.
