  1. He's seen two gun seasons, he'll be exponentially harder to kill now. Hopefully he's a slammer at 2.5
  2. Find them in fields and ask for permission. Typically where you see them in the eve in is exactly where they'll be in the morning. You don't even need that many decoys if you can get on the "X" from the night before.Get hidden as best you can. Layout blinds are awesome. There's a better than average chance some ducks will show up first
  3. Just kidding BBDEric, not hunting today. As far as anyone knows
  4. you have no choice but to hunt, you're stuck there for a few weeks until the river level falls
  5. It literally feels like I'm the only guy deer hunting in 9J today. What a bunch of fair weather sissies
  6. Guide we hunted with in New Brunswick told us the only bear attack in his memory was a lineman that took a long stick and was poking it around in a den then walked away. The bear came out and followed him and killed him. The tracks in the snow told the story
  7. It was fun being a part of this thread, I check it often and always hoping to see hero shots of successful hunters. I guess we can keep posting, it's live from the woods, not live from the deer woods...
  8. had to find this 10/1 post because I saw that fox again today. First day, last day. I saw the damned squirrel every sit
  9. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/12/21/new-jersey-boy-scout-leader-fights-off-black-bear-with-rock-hammer-authorities-say.html?intcmp=hpbt3 If you come across a cave where theres a dense population of black bears stay the heck away from it
  10. i had it happen to me the first hunt I got out after the October storm. Hit a doe high and knocked her down, a couple minutes later she "regenerated" like a Terminator and walked away. That's the only way I can describe it, she started crawling with her front legs and then got her back legs under her and off she went
  11. My cousin claims he shot a mulie in Montana that had a tag on it, true story!
  12. Receipt for the guns, bows, arrows, broad heads, tree stands, clothes, boots, bullets, truck, fuel, Deerview Mirror, lease... Man I don't like calculating what venison costs!
  13. Old Man Winter and football
  14. That doe is dark, very cool. A late season archery deer is a heck of an accomplishment
  15. I'm hoping for some 11th hour pics of dead deer, come on folks!
  16. Five years from now these will be the good ole days
