if you're familiar with Central Ave in Lancaster, the biggest buck I have ever seen ran down the stone staircase just past the Firestone grill and crossed the road in front of me on my way home from a hunt
I used to tie lots of flies, I liked to make elk hair caddis from deer I shot and pheasant tail nymphs from turkeys. It's rewarding catching fish on them. I sort of lost time/patience for it when my kids came along
I fished in Flatbrook a few years ago, where that lost city is. Talk about creepy! But youre right, thats some of the prettiest country youll ever see. Last week I was driving around Falnders/Mt Olive and its perfect deer cover
^Pressure.
I dont know what everyone elses opinion is but I dont think the rut was very intense this year. All the deer i have seen taken have been fat and happy, not run down from rutting at all. The deer I took had a lot of fat on them in late November. This time of year deer should be in a hurry to put weight back on for Winter but it seems like it isnt as critical this year. Again this is all just my opinion. Just looking at the harvest thread there were a few nice bucks taken this week even that are fat as can be
