I don't consider tent camping "downgrading" my lifestyle. I still enjoy it and don't mind putting in the work that it takes to camp like this. I mean no offense when I say this, but if you are in a camper you may as well be parked next to me in the community my home sits in. It's not really camping. We have some luxuries, my buddy and I both have cots, and they are pretty comfy and fit in the 9x9 tent I have perfectly with our gear. The wife and I have a huge tent, I think 10x15 ( I like my space ), and a queen size air mattress that is super comfy. But I fully enjoy cooking over coals, listening to the birds all day long, watching the chipmunks scurry around, and actually being outdoors. It's going to be a good trip, no matter what. The ball-busting will start on Friday night between 6-7PM when my buddy gets there and I say, "Thanks for showing up bro! Don't worry about it, I got the tent up, got the firewood, and if your beer isn't cold I have some in my cooler that's ice cold. Help yourself. But be warned, I shook the hell out of a few cans 20 minutes ago, so it's a risk-reward thing.".

Chili dogs with leftover grilled beans from last night. Before any one asks, the franks aren't from a box store. From Fred's in Clifton park. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

Buddy and I have a camping trip coming up this weekend. It's gonna be hot! Doing a "walk-in" with no reservation, tent sites are limited and pretty small. Looking like we will not have much shade. I really don't want to take and set up the canopy alone, it's a huge PITA. I don't even think I could set it up if I wanted to space wise. Was hoping to have a nice breeze, but 6MPH avg, for Fri-Sat-Sun, isn't going to help much. LOL. As long as there's a site available, we'll just make the best of it. Lots of water and sunscreen. Nastiest part will be trying to sleep in almost 70 degree temps at night. Camping on the Hudson for the first time in my life, so I will be taking my fishing gear along. I can't keep the catch ( well, I can, but I sure as hell ain't eating it ), but I can still put in an effort to land something nice. I guess they have a beach, but again, not sure I want to swim in the Hudson. LOL. I have been there a few times, mainly for day use and some deer hunting scouts, but never camped. Have some good food planned. Beers around the camp fire, 20 feet away at night LOL. Some fishing. Good conversation. Temps aside, should still be a good trip.

Great beer IMO. I found it by accident at the Shop & Save in Ravena.

How did the mac and cheese come out? Wife keeps bugging me for this but most of what I read anything with a lot of cheese needs to be cold smoked. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

Wife bought me this tonight. Drinking it while texting my bro about our camping trip next weekend. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

Someone just asked about the hunting season dates, and I can't find the tread now. But.... Here's the big game seasons, not like they change much from year to year. https://dec.ny.gov/outdoor/28605.html

Happy birthday.

Nothing under 275 Boone & Crocket, that's why we loose every year. LOL

Just remember tough guy, for all the smack you talk about the Chiefs, they are about as impressive as hunters who targets button bucks. They get it done, but, not where it counts.
-
Just talked to the Mrs., guess we are going back to Green Lake on Sunday morning.

What about your day to day clothes if you are a camper? I don't know anyone who buys special clothes to go camping. You just pack what's in the dresser or closet and go.
-
That's true. The people I cook for want the bite.
-
LOL! I know. We have the answers, like I said, all over cooking channels. What one really needs to ask is, what were they on when they came up the recipe.

Oh crap! I just had a messed up thought. Larry going to the Goat in skinny jeans.

Who cares about baseball right now! The NFL starts in about 4 weeks, and I couldn't care less who stays in the locker room instead of taking a knee. Lets go Buffalo Lets Go. Sorry, as a Mets fan I hate baseball.
-
You did it. LOL! Said it was good.
-
Don't say good idea.

I saw the recipe on that R-R show once, and a couple other cooking shows. It's all the rave with the hipsters.

I like a bite to my ribs as well. Fall off is great, but not when you are camping and cooking the ribs low and slow over campfire coals. You don't want that smell attracting critters when messy eaters forget how to lean over a plate. LOL. So I really don't use any method. Got it down on the propane grill, both smokers, and over camp coals ( which is the best IMO ). Those ribs look great!

Does anyone use the Sawyers ( or the like ) on light weight clothing you wash on a regular basis? Like your everyday clothing- jeans, shorts, t-shirts etc..

Pics? Either way sounds like some good grub.
