  1. Beer - check. Dinner - check. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk
  2. Large or small mouth - 0 Baby rock bass - 1 Blue gills - 25 or so. No perch which was surprising. Good morning over all, better then sitting on the couch. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk
  3. First place was a bust. At Green Lake now, wife just caught a guppy. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk
  4. We had fans. Put 'em on high and face out the window to pull the heat out of the house. Oh, and we didn't use the oven.
  5. Alarm is set for 5-AM. Hope to have first cast by 6. Wife divulged finally where we are going. Small public pond off, if I have it right, off Jefferson Road ( ? ). Looks kind of promising. I just want to land some large mouths. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk
  6. Been there done that a few times. These days, no one uses my rods ( yeah I know, waiting for a comment - LOL), not even my open face set ups. As for trolling, never used down-riggers, or the like. Two people fishing, one off one side the other oppisite. The worst part was making turns. Super slow and wide to keep lines right. Used to hammer trout using Christmas tree's that way on some of the smaller lakes in the ADK's. I'm sure you will get the hang of it pretty quick and be hammering the fish Rob. 7. If you smoke the cat make sure to smoke some chicken wings just for the irony. LOL Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk
  8. I have Crackle on the PS3 some cool programs and movies on there. I will check it out. We just picked the Roku box, some really cool free streaming channels on that. We got it so I could get a subscription to Shudder, but there are a ton of free channels. The fishing and gun channel stink, the NRA channel is OK. The Roku was well worth the measly cost. 9. Been in the fridge since we had the wedding. Someone brought it and didn't take it home with them. Man, I forgot just how lemony this is. It's open now so I guess I will have to force it down. [emoji481] Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk
  10. If the deer in my area, or any area in NYS have racks like that this early, we need a summer buck season.
  11. You just took these from your window? Really? Bucks around here haven't even begun to grow horns yet. What area are you from again?
  12. This heat will get to be nasty. We made plans a few weeks ago to do some fishing on Saturday ( yes, at times we have to plan ahead to be able to do things together ). We aren't letting it stop us, but I have a rough time in high temps with high humidity, the wife even more so. I offered to cancel and wait, but she said no, she wants to go. Even though I said then we have to get up early ( I want to be at this mysterious water she has in mind ), and be making the first cast by 6AM, fish the morning, and get back home before it gets super hot. After the rain stopped here, I tried to take my usual stroll around the woods near the home front. With the humidity and the moisture being sucked back out of the ground by the Sun, a 20 minute walk and I was done. I feel so bad for my dog in this heat. She's a trooper, but Siberian Huskies don't like this heat. 5 minutes and she's done. Back home and a few bowls of cold water with ice. Stay as cool as possible folks, drink a lot of water and juice. Be careful with the beer, it dehydrates more then it hydrates ( that was a joke ).
  13. Wife wanted ice-cream, I wanted a beer. Cheapest in the cooler, even cheaper then the dreaded budget beer. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk
  14. Really? You must be hanging out with the wrong humans. Ever see what a baboon can do? Oh, wait, humans have become more like them. What wouldn't I hunt? If I had unlimited cash? I would have to make a list of pros and cons. Would I eat it, or hunt and kill it to allow other species to prosper.... Not an easy question to answer.
  15. After seeing Fletch's ham on the grill, I was dead set on having bone in ham steaks on the grill tonight. The rain be damned, that's what we had. Bone in ham steaks on the grill, pasta salad with pepperoni, and deviled eggs with green olives stuffed with jalapeno. Wife even got a pic of me out there through the window. 16. There was a 'News' report of a bear being killed by a motorist on 9W near me. It went from 9W ( 2 miles North of me ), to being in Delmar, back to being in Selkirk, then it was Glenmont, and at one point it was Ravena. Really? A single bear paw pic is the only factual image of said bear. I called BS on the feed. No LEO backed up the story. https://www.spotlightnews.com/towns/bethlehem/2018/06/23/bear-struck-and-killed-on-9w-in-glenmont/
  17. Yeah, this is turning into the nightmare I had trying to find out if a rifle was legal in Featherstonhaugh . They talk you in circles, send you all over the place, talk to this one, talk to that one. I have lost the perseverance on this one. I have a spot about 20 minutes away, fresh water, and I can eat the catch. I want to thank everyone for the replies.
  18. Not sure if that's factually true. I do get the point, a balance in nature. But, it's not always harmony of nature over what's best for the land. When I was young, we would go to campgrounds both private and state run, and raccoons were a severe menace. Which, if I remember right, why almost all NYS parks declared the "Carry-In-Carry-Out" mantra and law. They tried the live trap thing, and it didn't work out so well. So other measures were taken. I am just saying, there are times when things just have to be done to preserve other creatures on a specific land parcel. You may not have that problem, but others do. Stop with the pigeon holing people on what goes on in their yard VS what goes in yours.
  19. WARNING! THIS VIDEO CONTAINS GRAPHIC MATERIAL OF TRUCKS GETTING DIRTY! PLEASE CONSULT A PHYSICIAN BEFORE VIEWING! I like watching these types of videos once in a while, trucks-mud-beer-bikinis, and folks just having a great time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3L2wbEb7VWQ
  20. Friends In Low Places by Garth Brooks, all verses. Every time I log in here it runs through my head.
  21. The violence hasn't changed all that much! The coverage due to social media has changed.
  22. I once heard Lorena Bobbitt was going to put out a line of hot dogs. The FDA decided the 'natural' casings were a bit too much.
  23. Don't think that's what this thread is about.
  24. I have a few bone in ham steaks in the freezer. I grilled a few last Summer, best were over charcoal with a few hickory chips from my smoker chips tossed on the charcoal.
