  1. Not one credible news source has anything about this. A Twitter feed and some wacko jibberish sites are all there is. Do you happen to have a real news source that can be constituted as factual news? Or are you of all people now using Twitter as your news source?
  2. That other forum shouldn't be compared to this one freddy. It's two different places with different people. It's not so much a lack of moderators here as it is people who have to troll the boards using more then one account just to stir the pot. People should be able to police themselves and behave like grown ups, but many on here don't so that, myself included at times. Also a good moderator has to be non-bias and they have to follow the rules and lead by example. All members should treated equally and you can't just go after those you disagree with out of spite, which would be a huge problem with adding new moderators here. If you're going to slap jimmypeeshispants on the hand for something you best slap hankypoopants as well for the same violation. No special treatment for friends. Instagram is another platform that's killing forums. You can make a store over there, unload video directly and have live video feeds, you have control over your own page more or less, it's Facebook with a lot more freedom as far as what you can do on your page. Its not my thing but I can understand the draw of it for many.
  3. My wife was thinking of getting new hunting boots, so maybe I'll suggest she take a look.
  4. Three words: Pink Bunny Suit.
  5. So is this 50% off just for the Good Sam members or for everyone?
  6. I haven't drank in over a year and a half. But, you bet your buttons I'd drink a Beast before I drank a chocolate-marmolade-blueberry-peanut butter-marshmallow fluff-cranberry anything back when I did drink. I never had a man bun or wore skinny jeans either.
  7. That thread was supposed to be about the beer used for cooking. It was overtaken by girly beers and seltzer.
  8. I'm sure all of us can find YouTube, the WWE, and MMA sites if we choose to look. Like a few have mentioned, if people would post the political stuff where it belongs it wouldn't be such an issue. The other problem is you can't even have a gun discussion about laws in there without the "totalitarian" ( that's exactly what they are! ) crew touting you're lefty or liberal ( or worse ) if you don't agree with them 100%. This place would be just fine without the politics. As for loosing revenue? You don't get paid if people leave, and people aren't leaving a hunting site if there's no political discussions, they are leaving if there's no hunting discussion. In every site I owned that I paid for hosting, I never had any ads, I never made a dime unless I actually sold something I was selling. If members donated a few bucks to help pay for the site it went to the site, not a penny ever went into my pocket. I didn't make the place to make money, I made the place for members to have a place to talk about whatever the site was aimed at. If I ever do it again I won't have ads or be concerned about making money either. Some are under this delusion that everyone who owns a website it trying to cash in, and that's not true with everyone who owns a website.
  9. I'm just thinking I don't really need to get the antlerless only tag if the one I already have either/or is good to go. The week I'm up in Indian Lake for the early ML season I have to use my Bow/ML tag for a buck. I have a DMP for down here by home, and the regular season will be in full swing in the NZ by the time we get back from Indian Lake, it actually opens the day before we'll be heading home. May as well save the $15.
  10. That's probably stormy continuing to troll you guys. Looks like he's advanced to catfishing people now.
  11. Not according to this if I'm reading it right. https://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/8305.html
  12. OK, so I was looking at the regulations for tags, glad I did. The area's I hunt in the NZ are antlered only deer WMU's, so the ML anterless only tag is useless in those areas. I'll have to use the Bow/ML deer of either sax tag if I'm reading the regs correctly right?
  13. Just a mile or so north of Ravena.
  14. Called both a couple times over a few days and they both said they had nothing in stock. Only place that told me they had them was Country Armory said they had a box. By the time I drove up it was gone.
  15. Thank you the heads up. I read that a lot. I noticed no difference in price on the run of the mill primers or the 209's. The Winchester and Remington seem to be just a little cleaner from a bunch of reading over the past couple years while hemming and hawing on buying a ML, so that's what I decided to go with. I'm sure down the road everything will get changed and I'll find a set up that I really like, but for now- I'm just starting with the items I have read and a lot of people seem to say work well.
  16. sbuff has some he's willing to let go.
  17. I have a Hobby Lobby about 30 minutes out, we have Micheal's all over the place here. Big box stores killed toy stores, not the web, Toys R Us was closing long before internet shopping took the foothold it has. If you can get the same stuff at places like Walmart for 1/3rd the cost most people are going to go there. I agree online shopping is ruining the mom n pop shops though, those little shops can't buy the bulk and sell it low enough to make a profit to keep doors open. As for Gander Outdoors? I kept hearing the hype about the one that opened in Coxsackie, been there a few times and I'm about as impressed as seeing someone use a pencil instead of a pen. Jacked up prices on most stuff and even if you get the subscription membership the prices are still high in my book. Couple of the guys working the firearms don't seem to know a bullet from a nose picker.
  18. I know this is a huge long shot, but does anyone in the Southern Albany area have a tray of either Winchester or Remington 209 muzzle loader primers they would trade for either a box of 12GA Win. High Velocity steel shot in #6 or a box of 12GA Win. Super Sport #8 ( both are 2 3/4" )? If on the chance you do send me a PM if interested.
  19. I'm going to make sure I'm home the day of delivery. I might just park a lawn chair up by the mailbox.
  20. If your not using the items that would be appreciated. I been keeping an eye out on muzzleloader.com. Appreciate those other two links as well.
  21. I guess it's back to the corner of the world I made to avoid the dictatorship of loud fingered jagoffs who just can't STFU with mudding everything up arguing politics. This whole country makes me sad these days, the left are still the left and the right ( at least many on here ) is turning into the left by acting the same way and throwing temper tantrums if you don't do everything just their way. SMH.
  22. Of what I currently own, my Savage 320 20ga pump with the chokes I have, cylinder for slugs, improved cylinder, and the extra full turkey choke. From small game to deer and black bear, and if needed home defense. If I was to buy a gun to only have one- Browning BPS field in 20ga with the same chokes I mentioned above. A shotgun is the most universal firearm ever created in my book.
  23. I believe the ones I have coming are the Aerotips. I know they aren't hollow points. I'll have a look and see if I can find some of those. @sbuff I went .50 cal. This is going to probably be one of those things where it will take some time to figure out everything that works together. Thank you for the tip.
