  1. Live? What a joke, it was a prerecorded video. No one should be shocked he is denying all of it. We all knew he wouldn't step down either.
  2. I tried 4S as my first pick and 4B as my second. No 4S this year unless my wife decides to go for DMP's and gets lucky.
  3. No 4S, but got my normal 4B DMP.
  4. New jacket was only $47 at wallyworld. Insulated, water proof and actually quiet.
  5. He's going to respond to all this live at 1:00PM.
  6. It was/is all over the news, all news, left-right-middle. I have my doubts anything will come of it, he won't step down on his own merit that's for sure. Let's hope seeing even the Democrats were calling for him to step down from the beginning they will force him to go away. Should be an interesting few days for this state.
  7. If the Live From The Woods thread stays on topic this year I'll treat myself to a new bow for next year, does that count? LOL.
  8. It made it to 12 pages. Looks like I'm heading to Walmart and/or Gander a little later this morning. Glad in a way, I have a lot of wool socks and can actually use the new coat more. Thanks for the boost on posts folks, we should do it again sometime.
  9. I have no idea if the guy ever followed through, my brother asked me about it last Winter. I hemmed and hawed and missed this year, but next June I'll be submitting the application. Like you said, it can't hurt. Probably go for the archery season, seeing I'll be likely tenting it if I was ever to get a draw that's a decent time of year to be sleeping outdoors for a week.
  10. I would sort of hope broke back mountain talk wouldn't get you excited. Not that there would be anything wrong with that. A guy my brother works with wants to try for PA elk. It got me interested a little, prices aren't horrible for a non-resident, and no air fair. Just something added to the bucket list.
  11. I really didn't want to be the one to ask that. Now that I read it, I'm a little scared of the answer.
  12. I'll be hitting the town hall in the morning to get mine. I was going to go today but, I'm still a little up in the air about getting DMP's this year. One more night to sleep on that one.
  13. All I did was mention if this thread gets a few more pages I'll allow myself to drop some cash on a new coat. Little did I know getting the hunting crew on board would derail the thread this much. I did make a mental note on that though. Some interesting info on muzzle loaders in this thread now. I kept and keep going back and forth on one. I've decided to let it simmer another year and see if I want one of those or to upgrade my bow. I'll most likely end up getting a new bow because the only time I would use a ML is for one week up north ( 5 days tops depending on weather ), and I don't mind using the bow up there so...........
  14. Hmmm... Then I really can't help. Elk hunting in CO with a smoke pole. That sound like a great trip, good luck out there.
  15. Nope, sorry. No ML here. I hear the Desert Eagle in .50 is a great handgun though.
  16. If this goes three more pages by tomorrow morning, I told myself I can buy a new hunting coat for this season. If not, I only get some new wool socks.
  17. Before that it was leaves, so I guess that was the original camo? The new improved camo system, a fig leaf and some natural cordage.
  18. Hey, if you want to hunt naked go for it. Who am I to tell you not too? If your buddies feel the need to do that good for them. I guess it would make for easy potty breaks. I'm not really sure what a group of naked guys running around through the woods would be called though. I know I'd be going the opposite direction if I saw it.
  19. Treebark! The first camo I bought that wasn't woodland. I switched to tiger stripe MIL SPEC stuff for a couple years back then. I agree that it's more about the advertising, but we all still buy and use the stuff just the same. I don't pay much attention to ads or fads, I usually just buy what's on sale. I have no brand loyalty. It just struck me after looking at actual pictures that weren't worked up in some photo shop the differences in the three. I picked up a red plaid sherpa lined jacket a couple years ago, not the top of the line stuff, but it's warm enough to wear during the gun season on some days. Brought back a lot of memories of those type of jackets/coats and guys wearing plain old blue jeans and killing deer wearing that stuff.
  20. My wife asked me for a picture of me out hunting, so I was looking through some pictures and video from over the past four years or so. I have some older woodland stuff, Mossy Oak, and Realtree. Looking at the pics from different times of the year I noticed that in the Spring when green up is nice and full even my old woodland stuff blends in well. I noticed something I never had before on the other two though. The Mossy Oak seems a lot more subdued and blends well in Spring and the early bow season, but seemed to silhouette me once the leaves are almost gone or gone. The Realtree Edge stuff blends in very well for everything but full green up, it blends OK but the lighter hues stand out a bit more. Mid to late fall and winter it blends in great. I would have never noticed this if not for looking at the pictures. I guess having some variations is better then just one option.
  21. Do you read some of the posts about those who choose to wear a mask? C'mon man! There's been a whole lotta unfriendly comments toward those who choose wear a mask. Sheep, Dems, lefties, and yeah, sorry even stupid and worse have been mentioned. I know you aren't the type to have blinders on and I know you have pretty good reading comprehension, so you seriously cannot sit there and say these things haven't been said on here. I couldn't care less if people wear one or not, it's up to them. Not my place to give them any crap about if they do or don't.
  22. Atsko makes some pretty nice water proofing repellents. They work and won't break the bank buying them. It works on most fabric and it doesn't make quiet clothing get noisy. Might be worth looking into to make some of your current gear water proof. https://www.atsko.com/clothing/ I used it on a jacket for when it;s pouring and the dog needs to go out and it help up for about a year, it would have worked longer but I didn't have enough to saturate the jacket like you're supposed too. I use it one our tents as well and it holds up for a few years before I have to re apply it.
  23. Are you heading out for this?
  24. If hunting around the time of a full moon seems to bother so many people, maybe they should start hunting with pants on, or better at least make sure your hunting buddies are wearing pants. Problem solved, wearing pants = not a full moon.
