  1. What ever dude. I deserve what I get? A high hearty middle finger right back at you. I would find it funny that this was what you choose to quote from my posts when I very clearly stated what a huge part of the problem is, too many major cities in this state and the NYC area gets to mandate what everyone has to follow. Throw in some other major metro areas like Rochester and even Albany with all the liberal antics and you get what we have. Like I said, add in social media and the lies and it's not going to get any better, I'm sorry you can't see the big picture of just getting rid of Cuomo isn't going to change anything when NYS is filled with liberals to the point of over flow. Like mentioned, some just feel the need to type and it seems you are among them.
  2. Thank you for the reply. I figured a solid wind would render it pretty much useless. I mainly picked it up because the new pup gets hammered with the bugs, so we wanted something to help keep them out of the area not just keep spraying him with the pet bug spray we bought. I get the added bonus of using it hunting.
  3. I finally broke down and gave into buying a Thermacell. I picked up one of the patio style. Plan is to use it for hunting as well as camping trips. Do they hold a charge well and do they last for the time the packaging states? The refills are a bit on the pricey side so I'm hoping they last for the time they are supposed to.
  4. Nope, I prefer a private person to person sale. But, for what it's worth, when I press the gas pedal my car does go "varoom".
  5. If that's where you are at 50 yards, then at 150 you should be right around the 't' second circle makes just below the bulls eye. If not right on the bullseye.
  6. I just took these. The scales were cut from the same piece of wood as the last few I made, so the grain is almost exactly the same. I do have a sheath I can add, it's from one of the builds in the background- I can just order a replacement if there was a want for a sheath. Again, to anyone interested, these are built from 1075HCS blanks, so they need to be cared for to prevent rusting. W/O the sheath $105- With the sheath $120.
  7. What ever you do, do not have a neon Corona Beer sign in the bar.
  8. That's the sad part, people who don't have a clue and just go for who is popular. It won't get any better with the internet, it will continue to get worse.
  9. This is true, and as I said in my post above, I don't trust this guy one bit. He always has ulterior motives. But everyone just keeps repeating the same thing over and over, instead of looking past their nose. Once you have driven the nail home there no place else for it to go. There's a lot of people that need the finger pointed at them as to why this dipstick is still in office, and it's all the major cities in this state full of liberal dipsticks who keep voting him in are to blame just as much. Downstate NY is the biggest problem this state has, sorry but that's just how it is, that area has dictated how this state is run for a long, long, LONG time. Coumo gets his ques and ideas from that area which is far more Democratic then Republican. For a king to stay king he needs the people to back him, he's just giving his people what they want.
  10. If weights not an issue, I would go with a cast iron dutch oven. Been around for a long long time and still very versatile. Even a Lodge is less then $100. I'm not sure of your intended purpose, but something like this can be used to bake in: https://www.amazon.com/Firebox-Quart-5-5-Billy-Can/dp/B01LWLU5MJ The lid secures inside and if you put it on it's side and add a small ss sheet to fit inside it acts like a mini oven.
  11. I agree with @moog5050, something needs to be done as things have gotten pretty bad in a lot of areas. Even my area has about a shooting a day lately. I don't see much in these orders aside from that BS with going after the firearm manufactures which is not a good thing, that seems to be a jam on our 2A rights. No, these new laws probably won't have a huge effect, but at least it's something. I also don't see Mac Sammich turning in his illegal guns and suddenly becoming a law abiding citizen. I have no like for our governor, none at all, and he's about as crooked as a grape vine twisted into a pretzel. So my concern is this is the start of some over the top new radical gun laws to be set. I hope not, but but it's just a gut feeling I have that he's up to something bigger.
  12. The knife is done, if any interest I'll snap a couple pics and post them. If not I think I'll just add this to my collection. I made myself one in micarta, might just decide to have another with wood as well.
  13. So if you were really only interested in @Biz-R-OWorld suggestion, why not just text him instead of having other folks chime in. Jeez man, one of these guys was probably all excited they suggested a place you were going to eat at, only to have the rug snagged from under them. Harsh man, that's harsh.
  14. ^^ This. All the cities I have lived in they did the same, there was a big loud vacuum that sucked up all the debris. So I guess the thread makes sense, because either someone stole the vacuum off that thing or they cheaped out and didn't get the new age fancy model.
  15. Seeing this thread is still open, I'll have another of the Kephart style knives done in a day or so ( depends if I want to make a mess running the sander ( I gave up hand sanding ) for this build in the house or not ). same exact handle set up. Red oak, brown and white G10 liners, brass pins. It won't have a sheath as the guy I am working on the build for decided he wanted a different blade profile while I was in the middle of the build said he had one. I'll get a pic once it's completed and price accordingly.
  16. The pool is taking up prime ground for another green.
  17. Interesting design. It sort of reminds me of the old two trigger double barrel shotguns. I suppose I'd be curious how the follow up shot would come into play. I know that there are times when you can completely miss a deer with a bow and they won't go very far if they move at all, so I see that as a plus. On the other side of the coin, a follow up on a running deer might not go so well. I guess part of a new practice regimen would be shooting at a rolling tire with this?
  18. You call anyone and everyone who doesn't agree with you a lefty, even though many of us are not. So, that's an insult unto itself to any right leaning American. Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean they aren't on the same political side as you, it just means they have a different POV or perspective then climbing into the bomb shelter when a neighbor farts.
  19. I want to pick one of these up in the future, this system allows to sharpen different grinds properly without the guess work. https://www.amazon.com/Lansky-LKUNV-Universal-Kit/dp/B000B8L6M2
  20. After looking at the box call I bought, I thought to myself "How hard can it be to glue some wood together and make a striker/top?". So early last May I gave it a try. It actually wasn't that hard. Some red oak and a about an hour to cut, glue, and shape the top. Then I sanded the round for the top and rounded out the sides for aesthetics. I used an aluminum screw to secure it together which ended up snapping and the top came out a little short, but did have an OK sound to it. I have to round down the inner wall tops a bit, and make a new top at some point. I never got to finish the modifications as I was on new puppy duty most of May. I did get to use the pot strikers I made the few times I got out. A combination of red oak and poplar to make these 4. Anyone who's made a box call have any advice?
  21. I use a two sided stone similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/Combination-Knife-Sharpening-Stone-SIDED/dp/B01NB07L3X But made by Smiths, one side is 240 and the other is 800 ( if I remember right ). I don't use oil anymore, so having a water stone I can also use dry if need be is preferred. I also use a Smiths two sided diamond stone to de-burr and put some finesse, then finally a few minutes on a leather strop. I also have a few knives that have rounded areas on the blade, so I use a rounded diamond stone for those.
  22. Second knife is sold VIA a guy my wife works with. Can a Mod. please lock this up seeing these are both sold.
  23. I've seen them strutting in fields into July around here. Back in 2019 my wife and I were camping in a state park the second week of June and at 5AM one morning a tom woke us up. It was gobbling and walked right down the concrete walkway around the bathrooms and into the woods. I threw my shoes on and tried chasing it down to get it on video, all I actually got was him gobbling but no actual footage of the bird. We have also seen them strutting really early this past Winter. We were coming back from shopping and there were two out in a field in full fan at the end of March.
  24. Here's a link to the regs in VT for ATV's. https://atvman.com/vermont/
